This is a holiday classic

Uggghhh. I'm leaving Tampa on Saturday for the holidays. Back to New Jersey I go. If
you've ever seen the TV show the Sopranos you've seen where I grew up.

I just spoke to my father who wil be picking me up at the airport. It's 12 degrees there. It's
72 here in Tampa. Ugghhh.

Anyway, sorry for the whining. I just wanted to let you know I'm packing it in for the holiday
season. Thanks to you and your fellow fitness pros it has been a hell of a good year for all of us.

I'm not sure I'll be getting another email out to you before the New Year so I wanted to leave you with something to think about. I wrote the below last January. There were more responses to it than any other email I have ever written. It's modified a bit from the last time I sent it, but
it's still a classic. Underneath my signature you'll find the websites to all the presents I've been doling out lately.

Without further ado...

'Racism and the Fitness Professional'

I’m glad I got your attention because it's very important you understand what I'm about to tell you.

So why are people racist? How did they become that way?

Well, when we're born our minds are a blank slate. We are very much like a new computer waiting to be programmed. Unfortunately, even in today's world some of those fresh, young minds are programmed with hate. So over time people are literally programmed to be racist. They weren’t born that way. They were taught that way.

To me, that's how people become racist. They are taught. It becomes a part of who they are. It
becomes an integral belief system. They have been taught over time that one race is superior to another. It’s very sad, but very true.

So what does this have to do with being a fitness professional?

It has absolutely nothing to do with racism itself. I simply wanted to give you a very powerful example of a belief system.

Why?

I want you to begin to examine your beliefs about your own success and start to think about where they came from. I want you to question what you believe you and your fitness business
are capable of.

For example, have you decided you want to earn Six Figures as a fitness professional?

Do you believe that is what defines a successful year for a personal trainer? If so, where did that belief come from?

Does earning Seven Figures seem out of the question?

If so, why?

Who programmed you to believe that wasn’t possible?

It’s funny how we see unlimited potential in our fitness clients. How we teach them the only limitation in regards to their fitness and what they are capable in life is what they believe
they are capable of. Yet I bet you seriously doubted how realistic it is for a fitness professional to earn Seven Figures in one year.

Now you may be sitting there reading this thinking “What the heck do you want from me, Jim? I’m having trouble enough hitting the Six Figure mark?!”

Well, I only ask one thing of you right now:

OPEN YOUR MIND

Because somehow, somewhere you were programmed to believe that it’s not possible. Remember, at one point in your like you were a blank slate and the world held limitless possibilities. Where did you foster the belief your earning potential
was limited?

Think about it.

Did it come from:

-Your fellow fitness pros?
-A health club manager you used to work for?
-Industry Magazines?
-Your college professor?
-Your family and friends?
-Me?

I really hope it wasn’t me, but if it was I’m here today to remind you that all things are possible.

I’m here to remind you the only limitation in your life is what you believe you are capable of.

And just like your fitness clients need to change their mindset about their physical results you need to change yours in regards to your fiscal results.

So do you believe me?

Or are you sitting there coming up with some excuse why you could never earn that kind of
living?

Do you sound like one of your clients bitching and moaning about how this will never work?
How it’s impossible?

What do I hope?

I hope your mind is expanding right now.

I hope you’re thinking back to when you got certified and THEY told YOU what you could expect to earn as a fitness professional.

I hope you’re laughing your head off at the realization of all this.

I hope you’re ready to dream bigger than you ever have before.

That's what I hope.

I also hope you have a wonderful holiday season. And for those of you who celebrate it have a very Merry Christmas

Yours in prosperity,

Jim Labadie
