A Slap In The Face

I used to belong to something called The Tampa Club. It's a social club located on the top floor of the Bank of America building in - you guessed it - Tampa.

The original idea was to find some good clients there because the members were some of Tampa's elite. Well, the fact these folks liked to throw back cocktails way more than throw around some weights made me cancel my membership after awhile.

But they sure did have good parties. One night I was at a black tie affair speaking to one of my clients. She introduced me to a gentleman who came up to us during our conversation.

She very politely said, "This is my personal trainer."

To which this jackass sneered, "Oh, you're a trainer. I wish I could get away without having a real job, too."

I assure you, he was not giving me a good natured busting of my...

No, he was very firm in his belief that trainers were schmucks who couldn't get real jobs. I just walked away because I didn't see the value in kicking some old man's ass because he took the wrong tone with me. That certainly wouldn't have helped business.

There are still too many trainers out there giving us all a bad name. Way too many. But the good news is, I think, things are getting better. We are moving forward.

So keep writing everywhere they will let you.

Same for public speaking.

Make sure your newsletters are being forwarded on.

Keep the faith.

We're getting there.

Who loves ya? ;-)

Yours in prosperity,

Jim 'The Liberator' Labadie
