You always want what you can't have

Sorry I didn't write to you last week. I'm working on a little something that's taking up the vast majority of my time.

This week I want to give you a little something to think about. I want you to think about little kids. Yes, little kids. And when I write little, I mean under 5 years old.

Think about one you know. Maybe it's your kid. Maybe it's a niece or nephew. Maybe it's a neighbor's kid. Doesn't matter.

Now that you've got this little 'angel' in your mind's eye I'd like you to imagine a scenario where you tell this child that he or she can't have something. Imagine the response you get. Chances are if it's something they are even remotely interested they are going to go nuts.

Am I wrong? Doesn't just about every little kid go bonkers when you tell them they can't have something? Don't they want it about a bazillion more times than they originally did?

Well, if I'm guessing right, you too were that age at one time. And if you've never noticed, most adults are nothing more than big kids. Yeah, that's right, we still want what we can't have.

And that includes people who are interested in hiring you. Try telling a prospect up-front you don't think they'd be a good fit for your program because they don't seem serious enough.

Think they'd tell you to go straight to h*ll?

Far from it. Remember, they're nothing more than a 3 year old kid in a 40 year old body. They'll start to fight to become your client. They'll plead their case. They'll do whatever it takes to convince YOU they deserve to be YOUR client. This is what I call the 'Velvet Rope'. It works like magic.

Far cry from the usual crap you've been taught about sales, huh?

And in case you doubt this works, this is from one of my customers:

'Due to the fact that our training business is within a gym that gives every new member a 'free' session with a trainer and nutritional coach, we do not have as much control gaining the interest of prospects who truly want to be here to purchase what we have to offer. In the past, this had the potential of creating a negative thought process with my staff. It was common for them to go into an introductory session with the assumption that the prospect would not buy, thus a waste of time.

However, since we have begun to implement the techniques laid out in the Velvet Rope...the pressure to sell is gone and the power to tell a prospect that they do not 'qualify' is amazing. Prospects actually walk away from an 'intro' wondering why they do not fit the bill. How amazing it is to hear a prospect try to convince YOU why they are the right fit for our particular program rather than the other way around. I've had prospects become so excited and determined to become a part of our team, that they cannot get to their wallets fast enough!

Thanks so much for sharing these tried and true methods in a way that makes perfect sense. I've learned so much from you!

Thanks, Jim!'

Anyway, the next time a prospect is giving you a hard time, change your mindset. It sounds a bit strange, but you're better off treating them like a three year old instead of an adult!

'Jim,
I just wanted to drop you guys a line to let you know about the new advancements at Huff Training and BaseballStrength.com.

Thanks to just a few simple tips from your Ultimate Sales Kit I was handed the keys to a 7500 sq. ft. fully loaded athletic training facility in the heart of Bergen County, NJ. Now if you’re not familiar with Bergen County it has been ranked in the top 5 most expensive counties in the country and the monthly lease on a facility this size would easily exceed $10k/month. So am I really paying that? Nope, absolutely no overhead, just a small percentage of net profits! All because of one technique from the kit…

Follow that up with a direct source of referrals from over 20 local high schools and a dozen other personal sport skill coaches and within 1 week I was fully booked and in the process of hiring a staff. All thanks to the Ultimate Referral Kit!

Sounds amazing, huh? You haven’t heard the best part of it… They came looking for me! That’s right, the thought of their facility never even crossed my mind until the phone rang and they practically begged me to come meet with them and show them how I could turn their wasted space into a money maker for their facility. The Fitness Prosperity mindset is a truly amazing thing!

Your information has taken me from 4:13AM alarm clocks and jam packed Saturdays just to make a few dollars all of the way to running a huge facility with coaches begging my staff to train their athletes while I simply sit back, relax, and watch it all bring in more money then I ever though possible like clock work!

I am forever indebted to you for your guidance and support!

Sincerely,
Dan Huff, CSCS

How to Build a "Brochure" Website

Why re-invent the wheel? If someone already has a proven method of doing something, and if you're not breaking any laws, why not just follow the leader?

I'm a jock by nature. When I first started this business I didn't know the first thing about creating websites. And now that I know how to do my own, I still don't know much about them! 'Bout the only thing I do know is they aren't nearly as difficult to deal with as you'd think.

Since I get a LOT of questions about my sites, especially my http://www.trainandgrowrich.com site, I figured the easiest thing to do is make an audio interview about it available to you. So Ryan Lee and I were going to do a F R E E tele-seminar on the subject. Problem was we just didn't make the time to get everything all set up. But what we did do was record a 20 minute conversation on the subject.

Normally, you'd only find this content on http://www.personal-traineru.com where I'm a regular contributor. But I told Ryan that I'd already made mention of this on my website so it was going to be made available to you as well - at no cost.

Essentially, it covers my TrainandGrowRich.com site, which is my 'brochure' site.
Or my 'homebase', if you will. It's modeled on the websites of many successfuly info-entrepreneurs in other industries. Hey, I'm no rocket-scientist. I'm just bright enough to look to the sites of those who have made it big.

By the way, if you're a fitness professional you're essentially selling information. Whether it be in the form of a Boot Camp, a seminar, a training session, phone coaching or an info-product of some sort. People are forking over their hard earned dough for your information.
Here's what you'll discover in 20 minutes: (again, it don't cost nothin'!)

- Why the site looks like it does
- How I built it
- How I got the exact look I wanted with no work on my part
- How much it cost me
- How I post files onto the web
- How I host my sites
- Some little tricks to keep people on your site
- And a bunch more stuff that will save you time and moolah

You can download the MP3 audio here:
http://www.trainandgrowrich.com/freestuff.htm

Just click where it says: BRAND NEW! 20 Minute Audio Interview with Ryan Lee on exactly how to build a profitable website.

Jim Labadie

It's all about the vibe

Some people just "get it". Some people just don't. Some people have the light switched turned on for them and then "get it". Some it seems, no matter what you try to teach them, just never will.
One of the people who most certainly "gets it" is Valerie Waters. If you have never heard of Valerie you can learn all about her at her website: http://www.valeriewaters.com Just check out who some of her clients are and you'll learn quickly that she knows what she is doing. I'm very proud to tell people that she is one of my customers.

I met Valerie in person at Ryan Lee's Boot Camp for Fitness Pros this past September. She came to Connecticut all the way from L.A. for the event. And she stayed an extra day to stay for Ryan's ultra-exclusive, $1,000 per-person, closed-door event. While the topic of the day was all about running your own super profitable fitness tele-seminars (which Ryan is THE master at) she was there to learn and for another reason.

When asked why she decided to attend she told her fellow attendees why she plunked down $1,000 to be there that day. Her answer tells everything you need to know about why she is so mega-successful. It explains how she has come to be in the position of working with TOP celebrities and charging hundreds of dollars per session.

Valerie Waters, trainer to the stars, was there to:

1- Learn Ryan's secrets
2- Be surrounded by the energy of the people in the room who would also be willing to shell out a Grand to improve themselves

Yeah, that's right, she just wanted to be in the room. She wanted to absorb both the material and the vibe. Valerie completely "gets it". And yes, while it is very much true that Valerie can more readily afford events like that, how do you think she got to be in that position? There were other fitness pros in the room who could easily have spent their $1,000 on something else. It could have been spent on any number of more "practical" things. But these other fitness pros "get it", too.

Too many trainers who truly want to succeed are surrounded by other so-called fitness pros who have no real desire to do anything other than train a few people and wipe down machines. Now they might say they want to succeed...they may say they want to be wealthy...they may say they want financial freedom...they may say any number of things.

But too often those are the same trainers who would be the first to sh*t on any fellow fitness pro who had the audacity to spend $1000 to learn from guys like Ryan Lee, Alwyn Cosgrove and myself, or anyone else who knows what the hell they are talking about. You know the people I'm talking about.

Why?

Because chances are if you don't recongnize that in other people it's because you ARE that person!

Please realize there is a very simple thing you can be doing to improve yourself that doesn't cost a thousand dollars. And by improve yourself I mean surround yourself with people who give off a "vibe of prosperity".

Who are the most successful people in your community? Take them out to lunch or breakfast and pick their brain. Pick up the tab. Thank them profusely for their time and ask them who you should contact next. Send them a hand-written thank you card right away.

Is that so tough? Do you have any idea how much information and good vibes you can capture from these people? Don't you want to know what books they are reading? How they spend their spare time? Do they watch TV? If so, what shows? How did they get their start? What do they think you could be doing to make better use of your time? What community activities are they involved with?

Do you really think it's possible for you to fail if the only type of people you surround yourself with are people of extraordinary integrity who are truly prosperous? And by prosperous I mean healthy, wealthy and happy. Really think about that.

And I'll tell you what else you should be thinking about: how to find the most profitable ways to leverage your time. I know what it's like to get up at 4:45AM to get to the studio to train my first client at 5:30 in the mornin'. I know what it's like to get home at 8:30PM and shovel my dinner down my throat. I know all about repeating the process over and over and over. But no more.

Nowadays I know how to leverage my time. I can crank out a tele-seminar pretty much anytime I want that will deliver incredible value to my customers and make me thousands of dollars with barely any work. Yes, I've run more tele-seminars than I can count. But as I wrote before, Ryan Lee is THE master. I can't even begin to tell you how much I learned from him that day. Yes, I shared a lot of my insights, and so did Alwyn Cosgrove, but somehow I still came away with tons of notes and ideas on how to make even more money running tele-seminars. And it is for that reason, the fact that I was there in-person, I can give you my full recommendation for this:

Ryan has released a very limited number of copies of his Ultimate Fitness Teleseminar and Telecoaching Kit. It will literally teach you "How to Make Up To $1,000 an Hour (or More) with Your Own Fitness Teleseminars and Group Telecoaching Programs from the Comfort of your Own Home... IN YOUR PAJAMAS". I know it will because I was there.

If you want to make a lot more money in a lot less time get a copy today. If you want to discover the truth about how to make money in this industry from those who are doing it...if you really want to "get it" get a copy before he runs out of them. Get one before your competition does. Oh, and by ordering it before February 9th, 2006 you get the program for only $297!

Get it here: FitnessTele-Seminars.com

Yours in prosperity,

Jim Labadie

Instant Fitness Publicity for You

One of my most media savvy customers and friends, Scott Colby of SC Fitness in Dallas, posted this PR opportunity on the forum at www.personal-traineru.com

It's a very interesting story on NFL players dying at alarming rates before the age of 50. Check it out at:

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2313476

While it's a sad story, it does present an opportunity for you to do some good.
Yes, it is a piggybacking opportunity. And it really should open the public eyes.

Depending on where you are in the world - this newsletter is read by a lot of trainers in a lot of countries - you may or may not know it's Super Bowl weekend coming up. That means American football is still a hot story. That's where you come in.

Here are my ideas as to how you can spread the good word about fitness AND promote yourself as an expert.

- Now is the time when New Year's resolutions have certainly fizzled out. This is a great time to remind people that exercise does more than just help them look better. The angle here is: if these world class athletes are dying young how do you think the rest of the population is going to hold up?

-Additionally, here in the United States the president gave his 'State of the Union' speech on Tuesday night. One of the biggest issues of concern is the soaring health care costs. Not only is your local media interested in that one.
But financial publications, ones that deal with big business, I'm sure would love to hear from you on that one. Their readers most certainly want to know how they can save dough on health insurance!

1)
-Ultimate Publicity Kit customer-
Jim, I made two huge appearances on Jacksonville's Morning Show this morning (as soon as the link to the footage is live I'll let everyone know so they can see what is possible with a little effort)

I already have a few voicemail inquiries for training & made a few info product sales. But here is the BIG deal...

Beacause of a press release sent out a few months ago I was featured in Skirt Magazine here in Jax. (now, I can't give away the whole story because I may create an info product out of it because is so valuable)

Anyway, someone who happened to be reading the feature when I was right near them turned to me and said, 'We need to talk'. We have been 'talking' and if things keep going in the same direction I will be put in front of this person's customer base as THE Fitness Guru for this particular company. & here is the KICKER: As of now, this company has 4 MILLION (and growing), yes, I said 4 MILLION customers worldwide.

I just finished an article for this company, got paid $150 to write it AND it will be sent to 350,000 of the company's customers. They are kinda feeling me out before we talk about the big stuff. So far so good.

And here is why the TV spots are so valuable. This company (4 MILL customers) is a locally based operation, the TV station is closely followed by the local market, and my contact knows that I was the guy on TV this morning out of the several hundred trainers that 'could have been' on the show.

You see what I'm getting at, right?

There will be lots more to tell about this story, but it must actually unfold first (it has already happened in my mind).

Hey everybody, just like our clients have to make the investment & take definitive, intentional action, so do we if we want to get the results.

Go do it!

My name is Josiah, you probably don't remember me but I'm the trainer that spoke to you about a month ago. You asked me to let you know how I was doing.

Well this month I had a monthly goal of making three thousand; I only brought in $10,560! LOL To my astonishment the program worked exactly like you said, people were asking me to take their money. It's fun!
Thanks,

Josiah

3)
Hi Jim,

I just wanted to say thank you for the great information in your product - The Ultimate Sales Kit for Fitness Pros. I purchased the kit last summer and immediately put it into my iPod. I just listened to it over and over and over until now I know the system inside and out. I use all of the techniques even daily to get people to recommit to their programs.

It's amazing, but it just takes a little revisiting to that pain that first got them to sign up and a whole new level of adherence and motivation on the clients part takes place.

Yesterday I signed up two new clients - the easiest sales I've EVER made in my life. And I owe it ALL to your system. Then today I signed up another client, again it was the EASIEST no pressure sale I've ever made.

Its just like you said, nobody feels any pressure because its just a conversation. They're telling me how much they need me now!

It's awesome!

And now that I have a bit of mastery - I think - over the system and how to use it. My potential in this industry knows no limits! So, I just wanted to say thank you from the bottom of my heart. Not to get to touchy feely or anything, but I'm going to make more money this year than I have in my entire life.

The cost of your system has paid me back infinitely.

Thank you, Jim.

Sincerely,

Curtis Ludlow

Hello Jim,

This product is a lifesaver! It really does take all the guess work out of closing sales and getting more clients, it has helped me tremendously. I wish I knew this stuff 6 years ago when I first came into the industry! You won't find this information in any course; not the way he lays it out - guaranteed.

If you follow even a couple of the tips Jim gives, that alone will pay for the course. This product, and all the other information I've picked up from Jim over the last year has really helped get my carrier on track. Get on it now!

Jim, I just wanted to say thank you. Fitness salespersons all over should be lining up to purchase your CD's. Not only is the information you relay great, but the other interviews in the Bonus disks are great too. Especially Chris Hunsicker. His energy and info, along with everything you give, will help me tremondously as I build my business.

6)
Jim without a doubt is leading the field in sales and publicity for fitness professionals! I can honestly say that he has brought in AT LEAST $20k since purchasing his sales kit and publicity kit. However more importantly he has helped developed not only my own business but my own self belief system as a fitness professional, this to me is worth well more then 20k because this is where it all starts from!

So if you are serious about your passion then this is the next step to take, trust me you won't regret!

Thanks Jim,
