Make the world a better place - PART II

Note: This makes a lot more sense when you read Part I in its entirety.

Make the world a better place - PART II

So what have you done so far today? What has your day been like?

Mine's been pretty cool. I'm taking it easy for a couple days. Still working, but I like to ramp up and work really hard and then take it easy for a bit and recharge.

Today I spent the morning looking at the ocean. Just kind of stared at it for awhile. Then when I was nice and peaceful I closed my eyes and did some visualizing of my future.

Lemme tell ya, it's not a bad way to start a Tuesday.

It got me to thinking about an email I received a couple weeks ago. It was from a woman who wanted to know if you can really make a living running fitness boot camps.

Great question.

While I don't run camps a lot of my customers do. And they make a lot of moolah doing it.

But what happens if your camps run dry? What happens if suddenly a new trend hits the fitness world and all those loyal campers aren't so loyal anymore?

Even better questions.

I'll answer it with two more:

1- Why do you think I sell so many different products and affiliate programs?

2- Why do you think I'm starting a second business and have ideas for others?

Yup. Multiple revenue streams.

I want - and you should too - the green stuff coming in from as many different sources as possible. That way, once they are set up, I can kick back and do the stuff I really love to do. Namely, write to you.

So can you make a great living with camps?

Yes.

Would I bet your mortgage on it?

No.

But the great thing about camps is that they allow you to leverage your time. You earn much more per hour.

And if you're earning more in less time don't you think you could use some of those new-found hours to create more revenue streams for yourself?

AND...

as I wrote about in Part I, don't you think it will become easier and easier to ONLY work with the clients you want to work with when you don't solely rely on one-on-one personal training clients for income?

Something else to understand is that your revenue streams don't have to be fitness related.

OPEN YOUR MIND!

There's a ton of ways to make great coin. You could:

- Buy a successful franchise
- Invest in real estate
- Start a business that works hand-in-hand with your training business
- Create info-products on anything you know! (I've heard of one person who earns six-figures selling an ebook on potty training!)

The possibilities are endless really. I just want you to have your mind open to all opportunities.

Why?

Because there are other ways to create revenue streams beyond fitness. There are an awful lot of people on the internet nowadays selling ebooks and DVDs and everything else fitness related.

Now I'm all about abundance, but competition is competition and a saturated market is....

You get the idea.

The moral of the story:

Yes, I want you to do what you love more than anything else. But I also want you to realize you can create multiple revenue streams based on things you really like so it frees up your time to do what you love.

And that brings me back to fitness boot camps. Scott Colby, one of my very first, and very successful, Ultimate Boot Camp Start-up Kit customers is running a coaching program on how to run your own camps.

It's going to be very intense and if you are the kind of person that likes learning in a LIVE group then this is for you.

Here's the deal: When you sign-up for Scott's program with this special link and write 'Jim Labadie in the 'How did you hear about us?' section of the order page we will give you FREE access to our Personal Trainer's Media Blueprint download.

That alone is worth $67.

Make the world a better place - PART I

A couple of year's ago, my mother, in her infinite wisdom, got a subscription to Reader's Digest as a Christmas present for my sister, brother and me.

I continue to get it to this day.

Yeah, yeah, I know. What person under 100 years old reads Reader's Digest?

It's actually pretty interesting. It's easy to read. And it's usually got a lot of very positive and uplifting stories.

And oddly enough, it's usually how I stay informed of the more negative happenings in the world. For instance, this month the cover story is about the latest Identity Theft scams.

I'm a HUGE believe in surrounding yourself with as much positive energy as you can.

Positive stories.

Positive music.

Positive people.

Postive ANYTHING.

I do this because I know the results it produces in my life.

While you do need to be informed of what is going on in the world - the good, the bad and the downright ugly - you DO NOT need to be inundated with it.

You DO NOT need to live in the fear based society most mainstream society does.

For me, and you are MORE than free to think and feel differently, I think the World becomes a better place when you build yours from the inside out.

Meaning, it's all pretty simple.

When you make choices that are for YOUR highest good everything else in the world just falls into place.

And you are more capable of making those choices when you remove people who are inundated with fear and negative energy from your life. Believe me, their 'vibes' will and do clash with your 'vibe.'

I know I've been harping on this lately, but the more negative energy I remove from being anywhere near me the better my life gets.

And when I wrote about this same subject a couple weeks ago I received this email from fellow fitness pro Jim Horning:

******

'Jim,
Right on...you really nailed it this time.

I feel completely compelled to comment on this because I've come to a conclusion that is profound regarding my personal training career: A negative client who does not desire to change their attitude is NOT worth the money...EVER.

I've always known this; but, sometimes you make sacrifices when you are building a client base or saving for something special, etc. In the end, it simply isn't worth it. If they are honest, admit to me their attitude stinks and they want to be called on it and assisted with their attitude shift, I'm in all the way; otherwise, there's the door.

Keep up the good stuff!'

Jim Horning

******

I'll be following up this email with two more very soon:

1- How to create multiple revenue streams so you can afford to work with only those clients you want to.

2- How to create a publicity plan WITHOUT being inundated with negative media influences.

Jim, two quick (but powerful) strategies

Brought to you by:
http://www.getfitnessrich.com

It's Sunday so I'll make this quick:

1- I recently saw this in a fitness pro's newsletter.

He publicly thanked his clients who had recently referred new business to him in his email newsletter.

Simple, right? But are you doing it?

People love to be appreciated.

By the way, have I told you recently how much I appreciate YOU?!

2- My good friend Pat Rigsby recently posted an awesome sample Joint Venture letter on his site. Grab a copy at:

http://www.fitnessconsultinggroup.com/sample-jv.html

NOTE: You should also be reading Pat's newsletter AND you should have a copy of his http://www.getfitnessrich.com in your trainer's arsenal. If you want to be ridiculously successful that is.

Hope you're having a great weekend!

PS- Turn $37 into $370,000 or more. Seriously. I'm not even close to kidding.

Endless doctor referrals

Have you ever notice we oftentimes make things SO much harder on ourselves than they need to be?

I don't really need to write much for today's lesson. I'm simply going to share this incredibly simple, but absurdly effective tip.

It was posted on http://personal-traineru.com by Seth Albright of South Carolina.

Here it is word-for-word - with permission, of course.

"This is a way that worked for me to get an endless supply of doctor referrals!

What I did was I started writing simple two page articles.

For instance, I would write articles like: "Mommies, The pooch in your belly and the pain in your mirror", or "How to beat the winter blues with exercise".

I would take them to the doctors office and ask the receptionist if she would hand them out to patients. The two articles mentioned above, I took to mental health professionals and ob/gyn offices.

In no time, I had doctors calling ME! Now, I write weekly articles for all kinds of medical professionals. They refer me to patients and other physicians so it's like a big snowball effect. Give this a try, it works!"

Here endeth the lesson.

Seth, you are the man!!! Thanks for letting me share this.

Does it get any easier?

How to stay on the cutting edge

I'm going to point out the obvious to you.

Fitness takes hard-work, discipline and dedication.

Now I'm going to point out something else obvious.

Hard-work, discipline and dedication are the main reasons people ARE NOT fit. At least that's what I think.

In fact, if you ask most people, the furthest thing from their mind when they think Fitness is probably the word Fun.

Do a little experiment. Go out into the public and play 'word-association.' When you say Fitness what is the ONE word they associate with it?

The one word that comes right to mind?

I'll bet dollars to doughnuts it ain't FUN.

If you want a Unique Selling Position...

If you want to dominate your competition....

If you want your clients to stay with you....

Have fun.

And also reward your clients for all their hard-work, discipline and dedication.

A wise man once said, 'it's all the little things that make up the big things.'

Give your clients certificates of achievement.

Give your clients little trinkets and tokens of appreciation for a training session well done.

Why not have a client, or boot camper, of the month with a grand prize of some sort?

Why not have contests between different boot camp groups or semi-private training groups?

Why not (and I got this one from Zach Even-Esh) have different colored t-shirts for different clients and/or campers?

In other words, when someone signs up with you they get the 'standard' t-shirt.

But when they achieve a goal...

OR have been with you a certain length of time...

OR have graduated from the beginner boot camp to the 'expert' level...

OR have won the prestigious 'client/camper of the month' honor...

they get a SPECIAL t-shirt.

It could be a different color. Or a different whatever.

Doesn't so much matter so long as it is perceived as an honor to wear. So long as it is viewed as something very special.

See where I'm going with this?

It almost sounds absurd, but people LOVE this stuff. It's FUN for them!

Something else to do, especially in groups or camps, is to play games.

Yes, you remember those things you played as a kid. GAMES!

Don't you remember all the FUN you had playing games?

My friend Jeremy Boone, the speed consultant for the Carolina Panthers of the NFL, has some breakthrough fitness games you can use with your groups and boot camps.

Whether you train athletes or the general population these breakthrough games are fun and guaranteed to keep your clients from getting bored.

In fact, they'll love them so much they'll be sure to tell anyone who will listen how much FUN they are having training with you!!!

Don't underestimate the power of fun. Discover Jeremy's secret games at:

How to cash in on the mud-slinging

Is there anything more disgusting than the negative energy associated with political election season?

Yes, it's that time of year here in the States. It's election time.

The good news is you have some serious potential for fitness publicity.

Why?

The media is going to be looking for as many stories on the so-called "issues" as they can.

So how do the candidates stack-up from a fitness pro's perspective?

- Who is the fittest/fattest candidate in your area?

- Who is the candidate that supports physical education or health and fitness initiatives?

- What health issues do the candidates have (or had) and how, as an expert, do you feel it will hamper/help their status as a government official?

You get the idea, right? ;-)

Your best bet? Rank the candidates from fittest to fattest. The media will eat it up!

So what are YOU gonna do about it?

What's more frightening than Halloween?

Two things:

1- How friggin' good I am at getting fitness pros on TV!

2- How friggin' easy it is for YOU to get yourself on TV when you listen to me! ;-)

On Tuesday I sent out a newsletter on how you can score yourself some easy Fitness Publicity by 'piggybacking' on Halloween.

You can read it here:

http://trainandgrowrich.blogspot.com/2006/10/halloween-and-fitness-pro.html

At the end of it I asked that those of you who followed my advice to please email me the result.

Well, here's our first winner!

'Jim,

Just wanted to let you know that I did as your recommended in your 'Halloween and the Fitness Pro newsletter.

I landed a spot with the top local news channel!

It will be a 4-minute segment of me describing some great total-body fat-loss circuits that can be done with a pumpkin as a client of mine demonstrates.

They absolutely loved the idea and have already said they want to talk to me about future segments!

Thanks for the advice buddy, much appreciated. Now I just have to get ready for live TV!"

Why fitness pros would NOT take the time to read my newsletter, or worse, jump off my list, is beyond me.

One newsletter. One phone call to a TV producer. One TV appearance.

SO, what are YOU going to do about it? Are you already on the phone calling your local TV news?

PS- Think my Ultimate Publicity Kit is worth the money? Brian Grasso thinks so:

"I am not in the habit of writing testimonials for professionals just for the sake of doing it. I honestly believe that it is important for fitness and sport training pros to have 'one of their own' assess the usefulness and practicality of a product for them, and then be able to declare it worthwhile or otherwise.

With Jim Labadie, and I can tell you without exaggeration, his products and information will transform your business forever. We all want to be busy; we all want to be in the media; we all want to be recognized as an expert. The reality is however, getting all of those things require know-how. Jim has the know-how.

There are several products on the market that educate fitness and sport training pros how to gain recognition in this very cluttered and competitive industry. They all come a very distant second to Jim Labadie.

Want to test the practicality of Jim's products yourself? Go have a look at any local Tampa paper or news medium (where Jim is from). I GUARANTEE that you will see Jim Labadies' name. He KNOWS that this stuff works because he uses it with absolute success himself. What more do you need to know?

It's not whether you can afford to buy this product... It's whether you can afford not to."

Can you be TOO positive?

I once received an email from a guy who told me to stop trying to be Tony Robbins.

I'm still not sure what that means exactly.

But my best guess is he doesn't particularly like uplifting messages.

Interesting, isn't it? One of the people who could so obviously use some more positive energy in his life doesn't want any.

I'm sure you know plenty of people just like him. I sure do.

And I avoid them like the plague. I literally can't get away from them fast enough.

They are the 'Energy Vampires' of the world. They are the same people who love the negative messages of anger, hate and fear they are inundated with everyday.

They might not think they love them, but I assure you, without knowing it they have become addicted to the negative vibes.

Yes, in fact, they are the same kind of person who would take time out of their busy day to send me a nasty email.

Really think about that. Really think about those kinds of people. Really think about how they try and sabotage you.

Do you have time to waste sending someone an email like that?

Aren't there gazillions of people out there to help?

Isn't there the true message of fitness to be spread?

Don't you have exciting projects to be working on?

I sure do. I'm betting you do too.

Personally, I can't get enough of anything inspiring, uplifting and positive.

Can you?

Halloween and the Fitness Pro

"Halloween and the Fitness Pro"
Brought to you by: http://ChinaisGettingFat.com

Did you know that Halloween is the second largest retail holiday of the year in the United States?

And since we're talking about the United States there will be more people dressed as a Fat person than last year.

Unfortunately, no costume will be necessary.

So what's a fitness pro to do to help the situation?

Well, get on the horn with your local media!!!

Whether or not you like Halloween doesn't matter. Personally, I'm not a big fan.

But it IS a big holiday and the media WILL be looking for stories.

- How can people stop from gorging themselves?

- How will all that sugar and fat pack on the pounds?

- What are healthy, but tasty, alternatives people can give to their kids?

- What are the "healthiest" candies out there?

- What quick methods of exercise can people use to burn off calories after eating that 13th mini-Snickers bar?

YOU are an expert. The media wants to hear from YOU with these ideas so they can share them with their viewers, readers and listeners.

So take action RIGHT NOW and call your local media with some of these ideas.

THEN let me know the results. Some of you will get some serious PR out of this and I want to share your success with the rest of my readers.

PR and the Fitness Info-Entrepreneur

One word: Trust.

I get emails from people once in awhile who are skeptical.

Skeptical about purchasing something over the internet.

Don't blame them.

While I like to think I do a pretty good job of promoting myself there are plenty of fitness pros - unfortunately - who don't YET know who I am ;-)

So when a prospect emails me and politely asks if this is to good to be true I tell them to kindly read all the published articles on my media page. Which, by the way, you can find at: http://www.trainandgrowrich.com/media.htm

And if being published on all those very credible websites isn't enough to gain their trust...

Just the other day I received a newsletter from internet and prosperity guru Joe Vitale that he is going to be appearing on Larry King.

Do you think Joe is smart enough to take that CNN appearance and recycle the heck out of it?

Me too.

Not everyone is going to see him that night.

BUT...

I've no doubts he will use the appearance to build even more credibility, and trust, with his internet prospects, clients and customers.

See where I'm going with all this?

I think there are a lot of great internet guys out there who severly overlook the value of off-line publicity.

One word: Trust.

Think about it.

250,000,000 fat people can't be wrong

This past weekend at the Ryan Lee Boot Camp I harped on something over and over.

CHINA IS GETTING FAT!!!

Now that is nothing new. I'm sure you've heard it already.

But what gets me is that most fitness professionals aren't really paying attention to the message.

From the qucik internet research I just did, 25% of the Chinese population is now considered obese.

Isn't this getting a little bit nuts?

Personally two thoughts come to my mind whenever I hear myself say 'China is getting fat!'

1- Obviously, something needs to be done

2- There is no better time for a fitness professional who specializes in fat-loss to walk the face of the earth.

Eight bazillion people are fatter than all h*ll and there are still trainers out there making $30,000 per year struggling to pay their rent.

At the same time guys like Alwyn Cosgrove and Craig Ballantyne are cleaning up.

Why?

Because they are probably the #1 and #2 fat-loss experts on the planet. That's why.

Their programs and training systems work better than most everyone else's.

Now before you get all crazy on me please understand I'm not necessarily writing to you. This newsletter goes out to thousands and thousands of fitness professionals all over the world. I'm just putting this message out there for those who need to read it.

That being written, wouldn't it make sense to want to learn every single thing you can from these two guys?

Wouldn't it make sense to want to know what the top-performers do?

I watched Alwyn Cosgrove this weekend learn every single thing he could, from every single person he could. Absolutely ANYTHING to make him better.

And it didn't matter who it was from. He leaves his ego at the door. He doesn't care if you've been training for one day. If you have something to teach him he wants to learn it!

Here's the thing: Craig Ballantyne has a book that you need to have in your training arsenal. It's MANDATORY reading for all trainers who work at Cosgrove's studio.

You can get it here: http://chinaisgettingfat.com

Ya know what the funny thing is?

The best trainers in the world will be the ones who take action and buy Craig's book just so they can find out one more thing that will help their clients.

It's the trainers who are struggling who will say they don't need it or can't afford it.

The very same trainers who leave the industry because they just aren't very good at what they do.

Listen: The reason the heaviest of the heavy-hitters in this industry make the most moolah is because they are AWESOME at what they do technically...

AND THEN...

they add to it all the powerful systems and ideas that Ryan Lee and I teach.

THAT is what it is all about.

Be GREAT at what you do and combine it with the business stuff and you will literally be UNSTOPPABLE. The world will be yours.

Yours in prosperity,

Jim Labadie
http://chinaisgettingfat.com
PS- Alwyn Cosgrove earns hundreds of thousands of dollars per year in this industry. Doesn't it make sense do listen to him?

'Craig Ballantyne's Turbulence Training is one of the single most effective fat-loss systems on the market today. If you train ANYONE who is short of time and is even remotely interested in fat-loss - then you NEED to be studying Craig Ballantyne and Turbulence Training.

This is mandatory reading for all my staff. Every trainer should have this book in their library.'

How to handle information overload

If you've ever attended an event like the Ryan Lee Boot Camp this past weekend, then you know all about information overload!

By now you have probably heard about the absurd success of this three day seminar. I've seen the evaluation forms and just about every single person wrote it was the best event they have ever attended.

I could NOT agree more. It was one of the best times of my life!

How many seminars have you been to that you can say that about?

Not that it was just a great event full of info, but one of the most fun times you've ever had.

The only problem with it - and I mean ONLY - was the overwhelming amount of information.

I've heard from several of my customers and clients already and their heads are still spinning with amazing ideas!

So how do you handle information overload?

Here is what I suggested to them:

1- Take out a piece of paper and make a list of all your best ideas.

2- Cross off the ones which now, thinking back, don't make any sense at all. The ones that really jump off the page that you know you will never get around to. (hey, we all get those)

3- Take a long look at what's left and really see if the remaining are truly worth your time.

4- Organize the remainder into a list of highest profit and lowest hassle.

5- Get to work!

It's simple and it MUST be done.

Why?

Because if you don't get organized and start planning you'll get nowhere.

It always holds true: Fail to plan, plan to fail.

********
It was great seeing all of you there (RL Boot Camp 2006) and getting a chance to talk with you about all your success stories!

I got to speak to http://www.howtoprofitwithbootcamps.com customer Lyle Johnson from St. Louis. He's got 75 people in his camps!

And I got to speak with Ken Roetman of Boca Raton, FL. He's my http://www.howtogetmoreclients.com customer who sold $10,000 worth of personal training in 6 hours after listening to my Kit!

There were way too many success stories to count. It was so freakin' awesome I can't even explain the feeling.

It's all there for the taking. Keep going after it!

How to automate your business

Know what the coolest thing about this email is?

I wrote it LAST Saturday. And thanks to http://www.TrainerShoppingCart.com it was sent out automatically today.

In fact, I wrote both the newsletters I sent out this week last Saturday and simply scheduled them to be sent when I wanted them delivered. (You can see the other one at my blog: http://trainandgrowrich.blogspot.com )

Pretty cool, huh?

Right now I'm enjoying the Ryan Lee Boot Camp. It's in full-swing.

And the entire time my business is running on auto-pilot.

God Bless the Internet.

Even better is you can be doing this too.

There's no reason in the world you can't have an online business that makes you moolah - lots of it - while you're:

- On vacation
- Sleeping
- Playing with your kids
- Training clients
- Listening to my info-products

You get the idea. The possibilities really are endless.

So take a moment and consider them.

What would YOUR life look like if you had an online shopping cart and your own information products to sell?

While you're contemplating that I'll give you another example of how you can make your life easier with http://www.TrainerShoppingCart.com

What if you you had an automated system where your clients had their credit cards charged every thirty days? Or 45 days? Or whenever you want to automatically charge them.

You can easily set that up using http://www.TrainerShoppingCart.com

The moral of the story is simple: Always be on the lookout for ways to make your life easier. And that means automating everything you possibly can.

Who loves ya?

PPS- Oh, and a lot of my customers are now running Fitness Boot Camps so they earn more while working less. That way they have the time to create and market their own info-products without losing any training income in the process.
