Mickey Mouse, hot dogs and French fries

As you may know, Carol and I drove up to Disney on Sunday to spend time with my sister and her family.

I didn't really dig the Snow White ride, but my 3 year old niece sure did.

And I did kick some serious a** in the Buzz Lightyear game.

Besides the fun, I love to go to Disney to get an idea of just how fat everyone is becoming.

I'll tell ya, I'm happy to report that this trip to Disney was different than the rest.

(Remember, I live in Florida so it's easy to go for a day)

Yes, people actually seemed to be smaller this time around.

I didn't see nearly as many people so fat they have to ride those motorized scooters.

And there were even some healthy options for snacks.

Sure, there were still plenty of severely overweight people.

Yes, the first food vendor I went to was featuring, get this, Hot Dogs with McDonald's French fries.

But I'm tellin' ya', it was better than last time.

Only slightly, but better.

And just like anything else, ya gotta believe.

You've got to believe we're going to be the ones to help turn the tide.

Fewer fat people at Disney is a start.

And a start is a good thing. We've got to start somewhere.

Let's roll up our sleeves and get to working SMART.

Who loves ya? ;-)

Yours in prosperity,

Jim Labadie

PS - Have you seen the videos on http://TheWorkoutMuse.com yet? They're about halfway down the page. Why on earth wouldn't you spend 50 clams to be GIVEN the exact resources to easily do the same? And by SAME I mean get your business all over the news.

Read this and succeed (where the people are)

Read this and succeed (where the people are)

The past few days I have been writing about the ease of going where the people are.

I've written about making your life EASY by incorporating proven systems into your business.

And as promised, today I will show you EXACTLY how to do this.

My good friend and customer BJ Gaddour has it down.

To me, he's in the right place.

His business focuses on where the people are.

He creates boot camps at corporations.

And he's making a killing doing it.

His workouts get absurd results for employees.

The executives couldn't be happier with the results.

BJ also thrills his campers with the music based exercise he has become known for.

Best of all, you are literally a click away from becoming a business owner who takes 15 weeks of vacation per year.

http://TheWorkoutMuse.com program he has just released today is off the charts.

As a Fitness Professional member you will have total access to his digital group training, nutrition, and business systems.

Each and every month you will receive updates to their members zone to keep you and your group training business on the cutting-edge.

Simply put, I cannot recommend BJ, his systems or information highly enough. He is the definition of a go-getter. He is the consummate pro.

Here's what you get for a ridiculously affordable price (just go the site and you won't believe it either)

- Proven rapid fat loss training and nutrition system that has our clients consistently lose 2-3 lbs of ugly, unwanted body fat per week

- Downloadable mp3 music files updated monthly so that you can just stroll into a workout, pop in your music, press play, and coach and supervise an UNLIMITED number of clients so you can make an UNLIMITED amount of income.

(note: Think about that. His system help you train an UNLIMITED number of clients at one time)

- Every single group training business resource they have used to build their group training empire (including both their corporate wellness program and general fitness boot camp program)

- This includes over 4 hours of bonus audio content where they explain their training, nutrition, and business systems and how to apply them to create/improve your group training business

- They provide marketing materials, press release samples, contracts, forms and many other resources for you to build your group training empire.

- They'll tell you what you need to do to become a fitness celebrity and local fitness expert so you can have clients beating down your door to train with you

- You'll eliminate a year-long learning curve because they spill their guts about all the mistakes they have made in the process so you can have even quicker and greater success than they have had

Look, the people you want as your clients are at work right now. They're all in one place at one time. The company they work for is getting killed on health insurance costs.

Go where the people are. Go to the companies who are DESPERATE for an affordable solution.

http://TheWorkoutMuse.com literally shows you how to do it.

Click on the link and then choose the Fitness Professionals option.

It very well may be the smartest thing you do all year.

Trust me.

Who loves ya? ;-)

Yours in prosperity,

Jim Labadie

PS - http://TheWorkoutMuse.com is your Golden Ticket. It provides you everything you need to take advantage of where the people are.

PPS - Remember, when you get to http://TheWorkoutMuse.com you will click on the Fitness Professionals tab.

PPPS - Failure to at least thoroughly review http://TheWorkoutMuse.com may lead to missing the opportunity of a lifetime.

Why YOU started your business

Most people who start a business simply create a job for themselves.

And because they are the owner AND the employee, they rarely get to take a vacation.

The dream was freedom.

But the reality is often just more stress.

Plus, no more paid vacations.

If you go where the people are you have a much better chance of living the dream.

More loot.

More time off.

And all while helping more people.

Tomorrow I'm going to show you an incredible system you can use to help make the dream come true faster.

It takes advantages of group training.

It takes YOU to where the people are.

Personally, I think it's brilliant.

You can decide for yourself tomorrow.

If you didn't love me before, you will tomorrow ;-)

Yours in prosperity,

Jim Labadie
http://ProgradeBusiness.com

PS - Take the proven system to where the people are.

Do this and succeed

Hey,

Carol and I are off to Disney right now - just a 2 hour drive from where I live - to meet up with my sister and her family.

I'm pretty psyched because my nephew and niece will be there. And since they live up in Jersy, I don't get to see them all that often. Is there anything better than seeing the look in a little kid's eye at a theme park?

Anyway, I'm going to write more on this tomorrow, but there's something I really want you to grasp about making your business a whole lot easier.

Go where the people are.

There's more to it than the obvious.

Again, I'll explain more tomorrow. Actually, over the next couple days.

Alright, I'm outta here. I'm off to have some fun!

Who loves ya? ;-)

Jim Labadie

PS - Remember, go where the people are.

This is an intense workout

Short and sweet today.

I'm guessing as a fitness professional you put a great deal of intensity and focus into your workouts.

I'm guessing you create a fitness plan for yourself.

I'm guessing you schedule time to workout.

I'm guessing you have fitness goals.

I can only imagine what your finances would look like if you took the same approach with your business.

PS - Remember, I've got something REALLY cool to tell you this Tuesday.

How I started my business

It took what felt like forever for my car to finally appear.

I was in Sanford, FL - aka, the middle of nowhere - waiting for my '96 Jetta to be unloaded from the Auto Train.

Yes, that's the train that carries passengers and their cars from just outside Washington, D.C. to Florida.

Mine was loaded with everything I owned. Seriously.

I had made the decision a couple months prior when visiting friends from college in Tampa. There was no way I was spending another winter freezing my rear off in Jersey.

So I sold my furniture and stuff. All that was really left was some clothes and my computer.

I moved in mid-June after having made the decision in April. Plenty of time to get a business together, right?

Got a website going. Incorporated. Named the company.

All that kinda stuff.

I really had zero clue what I was doing. Or what I was in for.

But I sure was determined.

A few hours later, after getting my car, I arrived at the apartment of my college buddies. Their little dining room became my office, bedroom and closet.

That's where this all began. In a dining room that wasn't even my own.

It all started with a dream. One BIG dream.

My savings were spent pretty quickly. The kredit kard bills started to rack up.

But I always knew it would work. I didn't have too much of a plan. Just a dream and determination.

While I don't recommend the complete lack of a plan whatsoever, I do recommend following your dreams.

They do come true.

Who loves ya? ;-)

Yours in prosperity,

Jim Labadie

PS - Let my friends Pat Rigsby and Nick Berry show you the plan I wish I'd had. Things have turned out great, but there was a lot of stress and sleepless nights along the way. You can avoid them by clicking here: http://www.PTBusinessPlan.com

PPS - Yes, all of the above is 100 percent true story.

The fitness blindspot

The fitness blindspot

Everybody has pride.

Everybody has an ego.

I'm certainly no exception.

What's interesting is how these two things can create blind spots and obstacles for us.

Sometimes our pride and ego prevents us from using a proven system that will make our lives easier because WE didn't create it.

Do you insist on writing your own workouts?

What if someone is better at it?

Would you let your business suffer because your pride is wounded?

What if you're better at writing workouts, but there's a system you can use that is pretty much every near bit as good as you?

Would you use it and save the time and effort?

Or would you insist on doing things YOUR way?

This coming Tuesday I'll be introducing you to a very unique system that delivers amazing results.

It won't be YOUR system.

But it WILL make your life easier.

And it WILL get your clients results.

So start to think about it.

What's more important to you?

Your dreams of more loot and time off?

Or your pride and ego?

Love ya no matter what the answer ;-)

Yours in prosperity,

Jim Labadie

Inside: How to reward your clients the right way

To make this as simple as possible I'm going to put these in numerical order:

1) A client or boot camper reaches one of their goals and they are feeling extremely proud. You're very proud of them, too.

2) You reward their hard work and accomplishment in two ways.

3) You send them a greeting card with a personal note expressing both your admiration and gratitude.

4) Inside the card is a small gift. Perhaps a gift card. Just a simple token of your appreciation to reward them for their hard work. This simple reward encourages the behavior that has made the goal attainment possible.

5)The next time the client sees you they thank you for being so thoughtful. You respond by completely overdelivering and give them yet ANOTHER gift.

6)This gift is a package of your favorite brand of supplements. The brand you sell, of course. You let the client know you are supremely confident this product will help them achieve their next goal.

7) They are more than happy to give it a try. You have already helped them reach one goal. They have the upmost confidence in your expertise and ability to deliver results.

8) You now have an extremely happy client. One that will be more than thrilled to refer business your way. And one that, more than likely, will be purchasing those supplements on a regular basis from here on out.

9)If you use the Send Out Cards system #3 and #4 take you about 5 minutes to take care of. You don't have to go to a store and get a greeting card. Never mind the gift card. Send Out Cards does all the work. You need only walk over to your computer.

10)If you are a Prograde Pro #6,7 and 8 are a breeze. They can't get Prograde products in stores so they can't find it someplace else cheaper and cut you out of a commission. And the auto ship program keeps you from having to carry any inventory. You just collect checks.

11) You begin to do more than just read these emails. You start to follow my advice and you make a lot more moolah. You have more time off. You enjoy your life. You help more people.

100 calorie snack marketing

100 calorie snack marketing

I'm pretty certain you're well aware of the 100 Calorie Snack craze.

100 Calorie Snack Packs of chips, cookies, candies...

Like it or not, it's brilliant marketing/packaging.

But it doesn't do much to help your clients and boot campers with rapid fat loss.

That's why Jayson Hunter and I are making available to you one of the bonuses from our http://CarbRotationDiet.com program.

It's our 100 Calorie Snack Report.

You can use it to give as a free bonus to your:

- Clients

- Boot Campers

- Info product customers

We give you full rights to do with it what you want when you give it away as a no cost bonus.

BUT you cannot sell it on its own.

It's a short and sweet guide that lists out snacks that are either "approved" and can eat any time. Or "occasional" snacks that should be eaten, obviously, only on occasion.

You can download your copy, including digital images, here:

Lies and myths of fat loss

I'm going to fill you in on a VERY big secret.

Most trainers give away the store when public speaking.

They are asked to do a nice little presentation - at no charge - for a group or club or networking organization.

The excited trainer creates an elaborate presentation.

They jam as much of their knowledge as they can into the 15 or 20 minutes they have to speak.

They bring flyers and business cards.

They bring sample workouts and meal plans to give to the audience.

They falsely believe that if they give everything away the nice audience members will become new clients or boot campers.

But why would they?

You've just given them everything they need.

At NO cost to them.

Sure they're happy, but the trainer is broke ass broke.

The trainer would have been much better served if they had done a presentation on the Lies and Myths of Fat Loss.

The audience would have been educated on all of the things people try to lose fat that don't work.

Basically, the trainer would teach the audience the TRUTH about why they are so fat.

And if they want to know the TRUTH about losing it, well, they're going to have to PAY for that info.

Remember, this is a talk you are doing for nothing up-front.

You do these talks so you can promote your biz and get clients.

You're still educating the audience. They are getting good value. You're teaching them things they don't know.

Make sense?

Next question:

Did you know that our Prograde Nutrition resources includes a complete "Lies and Myths of Fat Loss" presentation that is completely done FOR YOU?

It's yet another reason to become a Prograde Pro.

Why 6 figure trainers succeed

At least every couple of months a trainer comes to me with a Business of Personal Training product they are creating.

It's a generic how to make moolah kind of product that doesn't really have any shot of being worth their time.

The key word being GENERIC.

When Ryan Lee started doing this stuff he came from a place of uniqueness. He brought the power of the Internet and info products to the personal training industry.

I entered the marketplace with my Ultimate Sales Kit and then my Publicity Kit.

They were unique in that they taught specific aspects of the Business of Personal Training.

Pat Rigsby and Nick Berry are the masters of systems and processes.

Again, they brought something UNIQUE to the marketplace.

This is a tough niche.

Most personal trainers act as if they're allergic to moolah.

And MOST would much rather spend their cashola on info directly related to fitness and nutrition.

Why do you think I created the Carb Rotation Dyut with Jayson Hunter?

Because I want to go to a much larger audience that has a real problem they WANT solved.

I'm sorry, but most trainers trying to break into the Business of Training niche, well, they're heading right into a brick wall.

But there is one guy who is bringing something UNIQUE to the market. And because of that he's going to make it.

Where others have brought the same generic approach to the game, this guy is playing to win.

And what he's bringing is going to really help YOU and your core business.

Yes, he's going to help YOU help the people who want to look better naked.

And THAT, my friend, is where the moolah is to be made.

The launch date for this new service is April 28th. I've seen the site and it's unlike anything I've seen before.

I'm going to be telling you as soon as it's ready. You'll read about it here first.

Stay tuned. You're going to see UNIQUE in action.

Who loves ya? ;-)

Another time waster exposed

I had just gotten done giving a presentation to a group of women in Tampa when one of the attendees came up to me.

"So, sell me on this newsletter of yours", she said.

As per usual, about half way through my presentation I passed around a sign up sheet for my e-newsletter.

Pretty much everyone who was interested in looking better naked would sign up without hesitation. It didn't cost them anything. They liked what I had to say so far. Pretty simple, really.

But not this woman. It was 9:00 at night. It had been a real long day. The person who booked me for the talk gave me lousy directions and I had gotten lost on the way there.

I was NOT in the mood to try and "sell" someone on a free newsltter.

So as I was briskly making my way out the door, because I knew this would be a complete waste of time, I asked her, "Ummm, I don't know. Why would you sign up for it?"

"That's your job," she said. "You need to sell me on why I should read this thing."

End of conversation.

I'm not a used car salesman.

Neither are you.

I can sell someone thousands of bux worth of personal training in fifteen minutes.

But no amount of trying to convince this woman was worth the time.

If she isn't willing to sign up for a free newsletter how the hell am I going to sell her training?

Thing is, she was a sales "professional" of some sort. But not a very good one.

How can I tell after talking to her for 60 seconds?

Easy.

She wanted to beat me up over this newsletter the same way her prospects and customers walk all over her.

It's what she was used to. It's what most people who try and sell stuff are used to.

The difference was I know better than to waste my time trying to sell something to someone who doesn't want it.

Neither should you.

Who loves ya? ;-)

Jim Labadie

"A lot of people assume that my professional honors make it easier for me to charge higher fees than other trainers.

Unfortunately, it's not that simple.

I've worked in sales most of my adult life. I've gone through Dale Carnegie Sales Training (twice), read literally dozens of books, listened to weeks worth of cassettes, and even studied NLP (Neurolinguistic Programming), but Jim teaches unique, practical and powerfully effective techniques that I had never heard before.

I've just started, but I am supremely confident that the skills Jim taught me in the "Ultimate Sales Kit" will finally allow me to charge rates commensurate with my experience, expertise and honors - without pain on my part asking for the money nor pain on the client's part paying the money.

Jim helps you earn what you're truly worth."

"Jim, I would be honored if you used my words for your site. Your program has helped me tremendously. To give you an idea, when I arrived at the 57th St. New York Health and Racquet Club the personal training department had revenues around $28,000 per month. I was able to get that number to the $40,000 range by myself. But with your program I was able to get our personal training revenues into the $60,000 range and have kept it there for two months!

Even more incredible was our December. We just did $89,000 for the month! We were not running any specials or sales as I do not believe in discounts. I simply put into use your system and watched it work like magic!

Thank you so much!"

"The information is fantastic. I have listened to sales programs before, but what is so great about this is its direct association with the fitness industry. Everything is industry specific! The role plays are by far the most effective way to learn the sales techniques. Excellent product!"

"Hi Jim,

My name is Jeff Robinson, and last year I ordered the Ultimate Platinum Sales Kit. It was full of great information and has helped me more than DOUBLE my income AND I work a lot fewer hours.

The money I'm earning now has enabled me to get engaged, move into a nicer home, and to study towards my Bachelor of Science in Holistic Nutrition. Life is just more enjoyable when you are making the kind of money you deserve doing what you love.

So thank you, Jim, your course made all the difference. I highly recommend your products to anyone wanting to increase their income and quality of life."

mind boggling marketing

As always, I will repeat myself to hammer this message home.

It ain't that tough.

Marketing that is.

Summer is rapidly approaching here in the United States.

And that means millyuns of Americans are scared to death of how they are going to look in their bathing suit this summer.

NOW is the time to be marketing the you know what out of your Bathing Suit Season Boot Camp or training program.

If you have a conversation with a prospect you should ask them what they are doing to get ready for Bathing Suit Season.

If you're doing any sort of public speaking you want your talk to focus on getting ready for Bathing Suit Season.

You should be letting the media know about your Rapid Fat Loss strategies for Bathing Suit Season.

Did I mention it's Bathing Suit Season?

Did I mention I love ya? ;-)

"Just had to comment, I have just received my new shipment of Cravers PB in the new box and it was fantastic! The taste was awesome. All of the Prograde products have great flavor.

Since I recently started (3 weeks) using Prograde products (MRP, Icon, VGF and Cravers) I have lost 5 lbs and have not changed any other variable in my workouts.

Thanks for the great products."

"Simple. Convenient. Effective. Prograde Nutrition is all that and more.

Changing people's lives is hard enough as it is without considering the deadly barriers that arise with any nutritional deficiencies your clients may have.

Prograde eliminates these barriers and allows elite health and fitness pros to focus on what they can control and what they do best: systematically delivering the most rapid and lasting results around!

Though I would be a Prograde Pro regardless of the substantial passive income that comes with it, I certainly have no problem collecting it!"

"As a strength and conditioning coach who works with athletes both in college and headed there, it is very important to me the products I recommend adhere to all NCAA guidelines.

That's just one of the reasons I love promoting Prograde. Not only do they keep all my athletes in good standing, the products are the highest quality and they are shipped direct to their door.

I feel great recommending because they deliver results and I don't have to lift a finger. What more could a coach ask for?"

"Prograde Cravers are my new favorite snack bar. I think I've tried everything on the market--and Cravers definitely win. Not only do they taste great, but I love that they're only 180 calories per bar and provide 3 grams of healthy fiber as well (okay, so the organic dark chocolate covering might be another reason they're my favorite!).

I've done sampling events after my outdoor bootcamps, and Cravers get rave reviews from my bootcampers as well!

The American Idol Workout

I just can't help myself.

It's hard to express how much I love writing these emails.

I'm often asked where how I come up with all the ideas for them.

Well, everywhere I look I get a new idea. In all seriousness, I could write about a dozen a day.

Anyway, when I saw this last night I knew I had to share it with you.

Yes, I'm one of those freaks who watches American Idol.

And the reason I do is for moments EXACTLY like what happened last night.

It is rare when you can see the EXACT moment a person's dream come true. But I witnessed it last night. And I immediately knew I would share it with you.

You can see the moment for yourself on You Tube by clicking the link below:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H0zGydpqawI

When the singer, David Cook, hears the comments from the judges you literally watch with your own eyes the reaction of a man who has seen his dream come true.

Read that again.

You literally watch with your own eyes the reaction of a man who has seen his dream come true.

And you witness the very instant it happens.

It's one of the most amazing things I've ever seen.

It doesn't matter if you can't stand the show.

It doesn't matter if you think I'm nuts for watching.

Just watch the video and you'll see what I mean.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H0zGydpqawI

If you're not inspired by it, well, you might want to have someone slap the paddles on you and shock your heart back to life.

Your personal dream planner

Your personal dream planner

The people who are closest to me personally know that I'm an introvert.

I've also been a lifelong daydreamer.

I remember really noticing it when I was in the third grade at School No. 14 in Clifton, NJ (great name, I know)

I'd sit at my desk by the window and just stare at the parking lot dreaming of things a whole lot more fun than school.

Back when I worked at a personal training studio in Haddonfield, NJ I was definitely dreaming of a better life as I was scraping ice off my car at 5:00 in the morning.

As I got older the dreams got bigger.

And the more dreams that come true, the more dreams I dream.

One of which is to make more moolah than most people can even comprehend.

The other part of that dream is to give pretty much all of it away to my favorite charities when my time to dream comes to an end.

If you're not a dreamer I really think you should stop reading these emails. They're just a waste of your time.

But if you like to dream and you want yours to come true then I urge you to continue.

They do come true.

They will get bigger.

They will benefit you.

They will benefit others.

God bless the dreamers.

Great news for personal trainers

I was just doing some research online when I came across this news story.

Check out this video from ABC News in Los Angeles to discover some VERY good news regarding the Fitness Industry in 2008.

http://tinyurl.com/3lq69v

Pay particularly close attention when they talk about Corporate Wellness and Fitness.

My friend and customer BJ Gaddour is 100% right on the moolah when he says the corporate arena is where it's at.

Corporate fitness boot camps that is.

- They are in desperate need of solutions to lower health care costs

- Their employees can easily buy into an affordable program like a fitness boot camp. (As BJ says, unless the employees have some skin in the game it's not worth anyone's time)

- When you sell your camp to a company you've got a built in audience to market to. That makes your life a whole lot easier.

Again, watch the video. See for yourself: http://tinyurl.com/3lq69v

Yours in prosperity,

Jim Labadie

PS - BJ tells all in my http://SixFigureBootCamps.com program. He reveals how he went from being a trainer living below the poverty line to a six figure fitness pro. True story.

Does logic make you poor?

I was talking to my buddy Nick Berry the end of last week about something you need to burn into your brain.

I've written about it constantly.

My entire http://HowToGetMoreClients.com kit is based on it.

Nick is a great guy. And he's one of the sharpest cats around.

But he is one of the VERY few people in this world who make buying decisions logically.

Last week the light bulb went off for him. The VAST majority of people make decisions based on emotional reasons.

He saw it in action. He witnessed it firsthand.

Things will never be the same for him.

And as soon as YOU fully grasp the power of emotion when it comes to sales and marketing, well, I hope your piggy bank is hungry because it's going to get stuffed.

yet ANOTHER revenue stream

This was originally made available to fitness pros who are a part of the Prograde Nutrition system.

But it is beneficial to everyone so I'm releasing it to my entire list.

It explains how you can add a Weight Management program to your back end to add some serious coin to your piggy bank.

Ben Warstler is a fitness pro who runs a serious boot camp business in Vermont. He's got multiple camps going.

And he's starting to earn serious coin by also running the Prograde 12 Week Maximize Your Metabolism course.

He's making good moolah just from the course itself. But he's also really starting to crank up his Prograde commissions.

I interviewed him a couple weeks ago and Ben revealed his BIGGEST profit building secrets including:

- How much he charges for the Maximize Your Metabolism course

- Why he uses the "Velvet Rope" approach to enroll only those clients who are super serious

- How he markets the course during his Boot Camps

- How easily it has taken off through word-of-mouth

- His plans to make even more moolah from the course AND Prograde commissions in the future

- The simple mistakes he made and how you can easily avoid them

- And much more!

Be sure to listen to it right away by clicking the link below. But be careful, as soon as you click on it the audio will begin to play.

We really need to talk

I've got a very good friend who doesn't like to talk about moolah.

He's a great husband.

He's a great dad.

He's a great friend.

But when the subject of making moolah comes up he gets very uncomfortable.

I wish it weren't the case because, while it isn't the only thing to talk about, it's very important to discuss.

You can literally FEEL his negative belief system towards the green stuff.

And many people are like this.

It doesn't make them bad people. Not at all.

But it does keep them buried in debt and living on a very tight budget.

Certainly not the end of the world.

Yet just a slight change in his perception of the subject would make all the difference in his financial situation.

He could be much more financially secure.

He could spend more time with his two little girls.

He wouldn't have to stress if there was enough to make ends meet.

The school system certainly isn't going to be any help in educating his daughters on the subject.

Moolah is important. It's not THE MOST important. Not close. But it is important.

Get comfortable with it. Talk about it. Discuss it. How to attract it. How to KEEP it. How to make it work FOR you.

It's all so much easier than we make it out to be.

Who loves ya? ;-)

Yours in prosperity,

More fortune cookie wisdom

My latest fortune cookie said:

"Past experience: He who never makes mistakes never did anything that's worthy."

I'll share one of my BIGGEST mistakes with you.

When I first went into business for myself I started to talk to people who had jobs about my business.

People who had never risked anything.

People who knew nothing about marketing.

People who knew nothing about my niche.

But they were - and still are - very intelligent people.

They just set me back about a year with their wonderful advice.

Yes, it's more than ok to make mistakes.

But do NOT make the mistake of ignoring simple advice like this:

Don't ask for advice on how to be an entrepreneur from those who work for entrepreneurs.

They don't know what they're talking about. They haven't made the mistakes to learn from.

Business lessons from a 9 year old

On Sunday I went to a wildlife preserve with my girlfriend Carol.

It had one of those little amphitheatres with a presentation on all the animals where they talk about them briefly and let the audience pet them.

The neat thing was many of the animals were "presented" to us by volunteers who were kids between 8 and 14 years old.

One boy who spoke to the audience was about 9 years old. And man, was he ever nervous!

And it wasn't because he was holding a baby alligator.

No, it was because he was 9 years old speaking in front of an audience of 40-50 people.

He was shaking a little bit.

Kept rubbing his hands on his pants - while someone else held the little gator.

And most of the time he was looking at the ground.

But he did it.

He did what most adults refuse to do.

He got up the guts to speak in public.

This little boy showed a lot of courage and he will be rewarded for it all his life.

What can you learn from this courageous kid?

What have you been scared of that has been keeping you from living your dreams?

This little boy sure was scared. But he did it anyway.

Your most valuable asset

Your most valuable asset

Oftentimes, we learn by doing.

But you can learn from others, of course.

"Jim,

In one of your email's "the velvet rope," you strongly suggested that we don't meet with prospective client's who have not called for an appointment themselves.

I should have heeded your advice.

A man approached me at the gym and said his wife needed a trainer. She finally called me after I sent two email's and left one phone message.

We met, I went through the whole system that I learned from your program. She agreed with everything however; she forgot her checkbook.

I had a feeling right from the start that she was not a good prospect. We agreed to meet at the gym on Sunday at 8 am. She called at 7:15 am and canceled.

I learned first hand to place that velvet rope around myself. I will not waste time again meeting with a prospect client whose spouse wants them to get in shape."

Repeat after Labadie:

- Moolah is nothing more than energy

- It is up to ME to use this energy positively or negatively

- I will never believe anyone who tells me moolah is bad

- I will never let anyone make me feel bad for wanting to attract more and more of it

- I'm a fitness professional, so I automatically attract it through mutual benefit and integrity

- Jim Labadie loves me and wants me to be rich

Repeat daily.

What I learned from Tiger Woods

What I learned from Tiger Woods

I watched an interview on ESPN last night with Tiger Woods.

He was asked what keeps him motivated. What prevents him from "hitting the snooze button" and just relaxing a bit.

Tiger was kind of stunned by the question.

Essentially he answered that he didn't know any other way.

He doesn't understand how you could do anything else but to keep striving to be better.

And when they asked him who was better, him or Jack Nicklaus, he confidently answered, "Me."

Asked to explain himself he said, "You have to believe in YOURSELF, don't you?"

He wasn't arrogant about it. Just confident.

Want more.

Be more.

Do more.

Labadie's secret past

"Tech support, this is Jim, how can I help you?"

Everyday at 9am that was the start of another miserable day.

I don't think I could have hated my life more back then.

Like many others, I used to work in a different industry.

Yes, I was one of those tech support guys.

Phone call after phone call after phone.

All day long it was dealing with problems and complaints.

I'd just sit there thinking to myself, "There's got to be more to life than this."

Now some people might love that job. And that's cool with me.

I just couldn't take it. Three years of it was three years too many.

But it gave me such enormous appreciation for what I do now.

I'm now glad I went through that period of my life because it makes me so much more grateful for how things are today.

And trust me, it has taken me years to get to this point.

Do you think the person who wants to take a pill and drop 50 pounds is any different from the person who wants to get rich overnight?

I just always knew things were going to get better.

I just always moved - and still do - in the direction of my dreams.

I haven't had a hard life in comparison to the vast majority of the people on this planet. Not even close.

But I still know what it's like to be miserable.

I still know what it's like to work at a job you can't stand.

If you're reading this email I'm pretty certain you have an opportunity to improve your life to a far greater degree than most people.

To not try and make your dreams come true would be a sin.

Step-by-step...

Day-by-day...

Action-after-action...

I'm here to tell you dreams do come true.

This former tech support rep is living proof.

Midnight train to anywhere

If I could easily get a hold of Warren Buffett to pick his brain about making moolah, well, I'd do pretty much whatever he told me to do.

A buddy of mine from high school works with a trainer in North Jersey. He's a young guy who is supposedly ambitious. And he went to the same high school as my friend and I did.

So when my friend asked me to help this guy out I thought it would be pretty cool to show the ropes to a fellow Wayne Valley High School grad.

I emailed this young trainer with some initial steps to take. One of the steps included spending a whopping ten bucks for some world-class Business of Personal Training info.

Ten freakin' bux.

That was about a month ago. He hasn't done one thing I told him to do. According to my friend he would like to speak to me before he lays out the ten bux.

Pathetic.

I'm completely disgusted by this.

In fact, just thinking about it pisses me off to no end.

My friend Nate Green took out a loan just so he could have the moolah to make it to the Ryan Lee Boot Camp a few years ago.

Yeah, that's right, he took out a loan.

Now THAT is ambition.

Where's Nate now?

He owns his own studio with so many systems in place that he only works there part time. He's 22 years old.

I'm not Warren Buffett.

But when it comes to making dough in this little corner of the world I like to think I know what I'm talking about.

So let's see how ambitious YOU are.

I did a simple "Sorry this was late" Christmas card a couple days after Christmas to all of my clients and prospects from 2007. I ended up with 3 prospects buying PT and 4 clients came back and bought some more training.

So a $75 investment turned into about $2000 worth of PT sales! So the SOC is very VERY useful. No one will argue with a 2600% ROI!

"I typically retain about 60% of my boot camp clients each month, and I thought that was pretty good. But still, I'm always anxious about getting the enrollment up each month with new members. It can be a bit nerve wracking.

Last month I sent out a "picture plus" thank you card that I created. I composed a personalized message and ended it with a sentence asking them to continue the work they started.

Well, I got a 90% retention! There's no way that's a coincidence. I'm a believer in this system, and so should you!

"Before using Send Out Cards I was hand writing around 100 "Thank you," "Happy Birthday," "Just a reminder," and "We miss you," cards per week.

Our business depends a lot on referrals, so consistently making contact with our members and clients is necessity.

Now with SOC in my arsenal, all I need to do is enter in contact info and the system takes care of the rest. This system has allowed me to almost double the amount of time spent working ON my business."

Speaking, writing and big bux

More questions, more answers. Grab some Friday knowledge.

"Jim,

My name is Adam. I am a Fitness Director for a Personal Training Company that does business out of a 45,000 square foot gym. The gym opened the doors in December 2007.

I subscribe to your emails, have purchased your http://HowToGetMoreClients.com Kit and http://HowToProfitWithBootCamps.com Kit. I Love the content! I have some questions for you...

I have NO problems selling once people are in front of me (thanks to your tutelage).

However, I need help with ideas to get more people in front of me. In our system, all new members receive a complementary fitness consultation.

This is how I get most of my prospects. Nonetheless, there are 3 other Fitness Directors that also feed off of those prospects.

Keep in mind; I can only sell Training to individuals with current memberships, so most of the marketing has to be internal.

I appreciate your creativity, and would love to hear how you would get more of the existing gym members to set up consultation appointments.

To your Health,

Adam Petropolis
Core Concepts / Westminster
Fitness Director

JL: Adam, you're my customer already, so obviously you're a VERY bright guy ;-) My advice to you is simple.

First thing to know is others in your club will probably duplicate your strategy as soon as they see the results you get.

But that should never stop you.

Second, you can't do enough speaking and writing.

You should have simple "how to" articles on subjects your members want to read about all over the club.

And make sure you're writing for the correct target market.

They are SOOO easy to write.

- Catchy headline

- Intro paragraph explaining a problem

- A few tips helping solve that problem

- A strong call-to-action for prospects to take next

You can also do some in-house presentations on subjects people really want to know about.

It's April and bathing suit season is right around the corner, so that's the topic you want to go with right now.

For the entire lowdown on speaking to get clients and boot campers check out http://AmazingFitnessPresentations.com

Of course, you can also sign up at http://ProgradeBusiness.com to become a Prograde Pro and get full access to our entire 12 week Weight Management course.

Anyway, become the dominant trainer by outsmarting the rest. Make it known to the membership that you are THE expert in the club.

And nothing accomplishes that faster and easier than speaking and writing.

Jim Labadie

What I spend on relationship building

What I spend on relationship building

Last month I spent 300 bux on physical greeting cards.

Thank you cards and follow-up cards.

Why?

Because I walk the walk.

I know the value in building relationships with my customers.

And I don't do this willy nilly.

I'm smart about it.

I've got the process automated.

We use the Send Out Cards system.

I recommend it as highly as I recommend anything.

Next thing you should do is go to http://theultimateblueprint.com/ and watch the five short videos on how to build a business.

Second thing to do is go to the bottom of that page and register for the webinar we're hosting on Tuesday, April 8th at 1:00pm EST.

Pat Rigsby, Nick Berry and I are going to show you how to use the Send Out Cards system so you can build the relationships you need to create a serious business.

Don't worry, you don't have to spend 300 bux each month like me.

But you do have to build relationships.

Watch the videos.

Attend the webinar.

Make an informed decision.

We're making it as easy as possible for you to make lots more moolah.

Get on the train and see where it takes you.

Don't waste your time with this one

Don't waste your time with this one

I wasn't born with business skills.

I didn't suddenly wake up one morning and know all this stuff.

I used to do all the wrong things, too.

I used to have no clue what I was doing.

That's why it doesn't surprise me at all when I see trainers make mistakes - I've made them all, too.

And nobody really cares like trainers do.

Most of them just want to help people. They just really, really, really want to help.

And that is a great thing.

But the only way to really help is to get better at the business side of things.

I was speaking to an extremely passionate and caring trainer the other day who is really trying her best.

I'm very proud of her and I really want her to know that if she keeps on taking action she WILL make it.

One of the things she felt badly about was not being able to sell her services to everyone she does an assessment with.

And being the subtle guy that I am I told her:

"You're not going to sell crack to the Pope."

Now I don't even know how the heck I came up with that one.

It just kinda came outta my mouth.

But it's true.

Don't bother trying to sell stuff to people who don't want it.

It's a waste of time.

One of the most important things to understand about selling training is this:

You need to close everyone who can be closed.

Don't worry about the rest.

Keep marketing to the rest.

And when the rest are ready to buy, then you close 'em.

Simple, simple. simple.

The fitness forcefield

Some trainers know this.

Many don't.

If you're in business for yourself you need to be incorporated.

It's not just for the tax benefits. Though you'd be certifiable not to take advantage of them.

No, the big one is for the legal protection.

God forbid you get sued they sue your corporation, not you personally.

And for those of you who already are incorporated, make sure you are treating your biz like a corporation.

That means keeping track of corporate meetings and minutes.

Yes, they are necessary to MAINTAIN the legal protection of a corporation.

I'm not a lawyer. So if you need more help with this you need to speak to yours.

But make sure you do.

Make sure you cover your butt.

An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure goes for everything. Not just health.

Here's a question I'm asked often

Here's a question I'm asked often:

"I am thinking of creating an eBook.

But not sure how to create a joint venture, what it even entails ,or how to negotiate it.

I have no problem contacting people I don't know. I'm just not sure how to create a proposal...is it as easy as " I want to create this product and would like to utilize your free reports and email list and here's what's in it for you.....(another thing I'm uncertain of)

Can you point me in the right direction?"

- Kathi

JL: First off, I congratulate anyone for taking action. I love hearing from anyone who is getting off their butt and moving in the direction of their dreams.

Second, most of the JV's I do in regards to internet marketing are with people I know very, very well.

And that is the key.

If you're approaching someone who has a large list to help you promote a product you need to:

a - take a deep breath

b - relax

c - ask them what you can do to help THEM

d - create a RELATIONSHIP with them first

Relationships, relationships, relationships.

Yes, you'll never get what you don't ask for.

But you're more likely to get it from someone you already know very well.
