How to bash your competition the right way

What happens when a prospect who has been on your newsletter list for a year suddenly emails you that while they have enjoyed your information and would love to work with you they have decided to go to the training studio closer to their home?

Add to that the fact that not only have you spent all that time nurturing this prospect you know for a fact the trainers at this studio aren't any good. How do you respond without looking
like a sore loser?

Well, as you know you will look very petty if you come right out and tell this person the other
place stinks. That's not how you handle it. Not only does it make you look bad you've also made
your prospect feel like an idiot about their decision. Not good. This very scenario happened
to one of my coaching clients.

Here's how we worked it out:

****
Hey Mrs. Prospect,

Thanks for your honesty. And I certainly understand your concern about gas and convenience.
However, I must be honest with you: Any trainer can deliver results given that they have a good program. With that said, there have been 3 people switch from there to me simply because they had friends we were working with who were getting the results, while they were not.

Without knowing what you're looking to accomplish, I can give you a few general guidelines so
you can make an informed decision. Because as we both know gas will be a kick in the bucket if you spend a few thousand dollars and not get what you paid for. Some things you may want to
ask the guys over there:

- What can I expect as far as nutrition help?

- Will you be available in case I need help with food choices and want to call you?

- What kind of results should I expect and when?

- What type of accountability program do you have? (besides just scheduling appointments)
Because, Mrs. Prospect I believe that our accountability program has a major role in our
clients' success .

- What happens if I'm not happy with the program? Do they offer a full guarantee?

- Do they have any case studies or testimonials that are similar to what you're looking to acheive? (these should be written and signed and/or have before and after pictures)

- What are the credentials? XYZ certification is great, but what proof other than a certificate do
they have that they can offer quality guidance? Have they been published locally, nationally, or internationally that adds to their credibility?

- What happens if I have an injury? Mrs. Prospect, these are a few basic questions that I would ask, but then again, I'm not exactly sure what youre looking for.

Warmest Regards,
Todd

****
That is EXACTLY how you do it. By educating your prospect what to look for you very subtly
allow them to discover for themselves the difference in the service you provide and what your competition provides. Simple, right? Here's the key:

KNOW YOUR COMPETITION! When you play a competitive sport don't you always have
an idea of what your opponent brings to the table? Think business is any different? I could write a novel explaining how powerful this technique is, but just from reading it I'm sure you get the idea. By the way, Todd creates AMAZING promotional offers that always rake in thousands of bucks in just days for his studio. I'm begging him to reveal them for your benefit. I'll keep you posted.

Jim Labadie

Life is good

Yesterday I got out of bed around 9:30 and slowly but surely started my day. By the time 11:00 rolled around I had already made $1500. Not bad, right? In total I probably worked a grand total of 5 hours. Oh, and I also sat out by my pool for a solid hour. Got a workout in and started reading a new book.

Yes, life is good.

Now please understand that it wasn't always this way. FAR from it. In fact, just a few years ago I was waking up at 4:45AM to scrape ice off my car so I would be in time to train my first client at 5:30AM. I'd train clients until around 10AM then take off a few hours, get a workout, shovel some food down my throat and train more clients. I know all about eating dinner at 9:00 at night and then going to bed so I could repeat the process.

Life was NOT good.

Sure helping my clients was rewarding. And sure, I had some great times at the studio I worked at in Jersey. But that schedule...for me, that was no way to go through life.

So what does this mean to you?

Simple. You can have whatever you want out of life so long as you know the secrets to getting it. Here are the biggest two secrets you need to know about:

1- Know what you want
2- Take action towards what you want with an all consuming passion

Sound easy? It really is. Somebody somewhere told you it was hard and you believed them. For a long time I did too.

There are quite a few things more you need to know about. And lucky for you, me and two other fitness professionals are eager to reveal them to you. Alwyn Cosgrove, Ryan Lee and I - The Fitness Outlaws.

We will be announcing the Fitness Outlaws event in the coming weeks.

Believe me when I tell you that the energy is going to be all about true prosperity.

You'll be listening to three guys who have made the leap from personal trainer to fitness entrepreneur.

You'll start to notice opportunities that were staring you right in the face - million dollar opportunities - that you weren't aware of before.

Any fear of failure or sucess you might have will be replaced with an unbending determination to make the most of your business, and more importantly, your life.

You won't be able to sit still as you start to dream of the gobs of money you're going to start to make.

You will leave with a PROVEN blueprint that has literally transformed personal trainers into six figure business owners.

What's the bad news?

Well, you might want to kick yourself when you realize how much sooner you could have been living the life of your dreams.

Stay tuned for all the details!

PS- By the way, while you're reading this one of our already successful students is taking a mid-week vacation to the Bahamas with his wife. Why? Because he can. Because he put his faith in the Fitness Outlaws and we delivered. Want us to do the same for you?

Alwyn Cosgrove unleashed!

This week I did an interview with the legendary Alwyn Cosgrove.

Yes, the same guy who tore the industry a new one at Ryan Lee's Boot Camp.

Yes, the same guy I'll be touring with at the upcoming 'Fitness Outlaws' events. (Phoenix - it's official we're coming on Saturday, January 21st!)

Yes, the same guy who will bet his mortgage he can write a better program than you. I actually interviewed him for something you'll be hearing about real soon.

This is going to be short and sweet today and I really want you to think about the complete
mind-shift that his thinking demands of the fitness industry. Here are some of the highlights:

- Most trainers don't know what the hell they are doing in terms of program design and that is
the real reason clients aren't seeing results.

- Trainers who aren't charging one fee for program design and another fee for the actual
training sessions are missing the boat.

- Trainers should be charging by the session and it doesn't matter whether it takes 15 minutes,
27 minutes, 60 minutes or whatever. Should you be penalized for the fact that you can get clients results in less time? Really think about that one.

- People, me and you included, often see the value in a service based on the amount of time. Shouldn't the result be what has the most value placed on it?

- One-on-one training is dead. If you're not training people in groups you're missing the potential to earn far more per session.

- Alwyn has been writing programs for 16 years. He can write one in 6 minutes that will get better results than most trainers, me included, can ever hope for. So when people
ask about the program design fee and how long it takes him he tells them, '16 years.' There is no
substitute for real world experience.

While you're mulling that over I can't possibly make a stronger recommendation for another
expert's product than for Alwyn's program design manual. You'll find out all about it at:

PS- If you want to learn from the best there is then you need to learn from Alwyn Cosgrove.
I know I did.

PPS- What does the editor of Men's Fitness think of Alwyn Cosgrove?

"Long before ever seeing him in action, I was convinced that Alwyn Cosgrove was the greatest
trainer in the world. His unique theories on performance-enhancement, along with his clients' outstanding results, confirm Alwyn's immense talent, knowledge, originality, and passion for training. But it's Alwyn's keen perception - his innate ability to spot and dismantle flaws in both programs and theories, and immediately know how to repair them - that makes him a coach, and a man, who is so in demand the world over.
