Three Things You Want to Know

For fitness pros, by fitness pros.

Three Things You Want to Know

1) My friend and customer Jerry Hill just landed a nice media hit for the Michael Moore challenge that is bringing some good web traffic. Check it out at:

http://tinyurl.com/yoysg8

You should be using the http://michaelmoorehealthchallenge.com/ to land your own publicity.

2) If you're looking for the lowest cost (to my knowledge) personal training insurance - from a company that is 100% reputable - then look no further than http://Trainer-Insurance.com

I know the president of the company personally. Ken Reinig is a great guy and you will be in great hands when you are covered by his firm.

3) There is a complete Fitness Together franchise for sale in South Florida that is practically being given away.

No clients on the books, so it is kind of like starting your own FT, but you don't have to do anything but crank up the marketing. The facility has been in operation for awhile, but the guy who was minding the store for the owner, well, he went AWOL on him.

You get to have it all for $49K, instead of the normal $150-170K start up. AND in a demographic that is wildly wealthy.

There is no reason NOT to be training 750-900 clients/month within 9-12 months. If you want to live in South Florida, or already do, and want a turn-key business at a breakneck price...

Cliff Latham is one of the top guys in Fitness Together and one of my subcribers. If you're interested, get in touch with him NOW!

Email him at: clifflatham@fitnesstogether.com

There are already two people on their way down to my neck of the woods to look at it. Literally, as I write this they are on their way to Florida to possibly buy it.

Please be sure to tell Cliff you heard about it from Jim Labadie.

Have a great weekend!

It's Like Looking In a Mirror

It's Like Looking In a Mirror

There's a good chance you own several pairs of sneakers.

There's a good chance you own a heart rate monitor.

There's more than a good chance you're reading this email in workout attire.

There's a good chance you never go anywhere without a bottle of water.

There's a good chance you have trained at least a couple clients today.

There's a good chance you've run a boot camp this morning.

There's a good chance you're working on your first fitness info product right now.

There's a good chance you've been working out since you were a teenager.

There's a good chance you used to have a "real" job, or have been told to get one.

There's a very good chance the fact a person can become a certified personal trainer by taking a weekend course p*sses the he## out of you.

There's a very good chance you aren't making any dough at all.

There's also a chance you are making pretty good loot but you're working yourself to death to make it.

So what on earth does this mean?

Simple.

I know the person I am writing to when I send out my email newsletters like I know myself.

How well do you know the person who is reading yours?

I love ya no matter what. ;-)

Yours in prosperity,
Jim Labadie

PS- I've been writing these things for four years. I know a thing or two that can help you. Put your faith in me.

"Jim,
What a great product Ultimate Email Marketing is. No fluff just immediately useable info. I've already made one change (you suggested) to my subject headline and have got a lot more emails opened - thanks!

A simple fact like knowing the email open rate for successful info marketers was brilliant, a real relief to hear!"

PPS- I'm working on something big. VERY big. I did it in 2005 and I'm going to do it again.

Tough, Heart-Thumping Workout

Before I went on vacation I asked my friend Amanda Vogel for a way to promote fitness as fun. A way to get people excited about joining a Boot Camp or some other fitness program.

Her response is brilliant.

****

What works well is to get people excited to join a program that culminates with a special outing or event. We did that at the club where I was VP a few years ago. The big event was to climb a local mountain, the Grouse Grind, as a group, supporting and encouraging each other.

The Grind is famous in Vancouver for being a tough, heart-thumping workout. The feeling of achievement you get when you finish and the view of the city from the top are well worth the effort.

At our club, we organized a program to help people who might not have imagined ever doing the Grind - these are the people who get the biggest emotional payoff from such an event. The marketing hooks were:

1) a program that showed members exactly how to get fit for our big event, so they'd feel prepared, supported and motivated (this was also a good way to stimulate word of mouth in the club because people talked about "training for the Grind"),

... and, even more importantly ...

2) helping members achieve a confidence-boosting "rite of passage" on the Vancouver fitness scene - hiking the Grouse Grind - with the encouragement and guidance of other gym members and qualified staff.

By the way, if you have a local fitness attraction such as the Grouse Grind, helping less-fit people conquer the feat (these are people who wouldn't normally do it on their own) can also be a good hook for a human interest story with the local media.

By the way, Amanda is the co-creator of Profitable Fitness Events for Managers and Trainers. A CD available at http://www.activevoice.ca/fitmark_profevents.shtml

"Jim,

Just wanted to give you a quick heads up on the progress I've made with my camps since purchasing your Ultimate Boot Camp Product.

I started in March '06 with about 10 people attending. It's steadily grown over the last 9 months with this month hitting 56 enrolled!!

It was your product that cemented the idea to start my own camps. I had no idea at the time that some initial guidance from the Ultimate BC CD's and some marketing know how would amount to a such a successful business.

I want to thank you for providing that spark that ignited what this year will be a SIX-FIGURE boot camp business!!"

"Hi Jim,

My name is Lyle Johnson, owner of MVP Fitness in St. Louis. I purchased your Boot Camp Start Up Kit and have gotten great results. I have had 44 camp members enroll in MVP Fitness Boot Camp in the first month. Not bad considering I only had 3 clients last year before the Kit!

Currently I am holding three camps; one at a local high school, another in an affluent subdivision and the other one for the St. Louis Cardinals Baseball Organization, which is actually held on the baseball diamond at the brand new Busch Staduim.

I feel great and very confident in the future direction of MVP Fitness and I am looking forward to improving more people's lives by offering more boot camps.

Thanks again! Your Ultimate Boot Camp Start-Up Kit CDs really helped me grow my business!"

Save Hours Of Time With This One Tip

I'm a recycler.

I love recycling content as many ways as possible.

I've used one article 5 different ways and have more uses for it in the future.

Here is how I have used my "4 Powerful Tips for Marketing Fitness Boot Camps" article:

1- You can find it here:

http://www.protraineronline.com/past/Mar&Apr07/article3.cfm

(you may have to copy and paste into your browser)

2- This same article was just published in the print version of the Australian "Personal Trainer Network" magazine.

3- I've used the actual article as a "regular" email newsletter to my entire list.

4- It's a part of the autoresponder series at http://howtoprofitwithbootcamps.com

5- I'm recylcing it right now ;-)

It takes me less than an hour to write an article, so it didn't take me much time to begin with.

But can you see how powerful recycling your content can be?

How much time it saves?

How it still promotes you as an expert even when it's used over and over and over again?

So ask yourself: What am I doing with MY best content?

Who loves ya? ;-)

The Secret to Email Marketing

People will tell you having a "list" is the most important thing.

I'm pretty sure I've written that in the past.

And it's super important. You must have a list.

But what you need even more is a RELATIONSHIP with your list.

Why do you think I told you I was going on vacation with my girlfriend last week?

Why do I let you know when I get back from seeing my family in New Jersey?

Why do I offer up my personal opinion on things?

Why did I call Michael Moore an idiot a couple weeks ago?

The secret is not in having a list. The secret is having a great relationship with your list.

Why?

Because people aren't just buying your products and services.

They are buying YOU.

I can send out an email on any day of the week and make moolah.

Not just because I have a list. But because I have a great relationship with my list.

And that comes from:

- Truly caring about your success

- Giving great content

- Sharing personal insights about how I am and what I stand for

That being written, wouldn't it make sense to know all of my email marketing secrets?

A Big Fat I Told You So

Two things right off the bat:

1- This is a POSITIVE Big Fat I Told You So

2- Thanks to the magic of http://TrainerShoppingCart.com I was off on vacation and my newsletters still got sent out!

Please don't think I've given up on the http://michaelmoorehealthchallenge.com

Not even close. Last week I was interviewed by Club Industry about it.

We're partnering with the Independent Health Club Networking Association to spread the word.

And as I wrote last week, Pamela MacElree and Jason C. Brown of CrossFit Philly have already gotten a media hit out of piggybacking off of it!

Read it here:

"I am not in the habit of writing testimonials for professionals just for the sake of doing it. I honestly believe that it is important for fitness and sport training pros to have 'one of their own' assess the usefulness and practicality of a product for them, and then be able to declare it worthwhile or otherwise.

With Jim Labadie, and I can tell you without exaggeration, his products and information will transform your business forever. We all want to be busy; we all want to be in the media; we all want to be recognized as an expert. The reality is however, getting all of those things require know-how. Jim has the know-how.

There are several products on the market that educate fitness and sport training pros how to gain recognition in this very cluttered and competitive industry. They all come a very distant second to Jim Labadie.

It's not whether you can afford to buy this product... It's whether you can afford not to."

My New Sunglasses and Your Training Business

Prograde Cravers are sweeping the nation! Have you seen the video?

http://www.trainandgrowrich.com/whatsnew.htm
****
Recently I went to Nordstrom's - by far and away my favorite store - to get a new pair of sunglasses.

And while my cool looking Maui Jim's aren't of great importance to you, the rest of this email is.

Two things:

1- The sales person sent me a hand written thank you card. I know this is nothing new. I know this is something you know you should be doing.

But are you?

It's stunning how far a simple thank you note goes.

2- I go to Nordstrom's because they take care of me. They make my life easy. I don't like to shop, so once I find what I'm looking for - and they always help me find it - I get the heck out of there and move on with my life.

You may very well enjoy the process of shopping. You might love finding a great deal.

I've got no problem with that.

But I just want to point out if you're always haggling and spending days looking to save a handful of bucks you may very well be costing yourself a fortune by spending time nickel and diming instead of focusing on marketing that can attract serious coin.

And don't even get me started on the lack of prosperity consciousness that extreme bargain hunting reveals.

Again, there's nothing wrong with getting a great price on things. But I know people who take it too such extremes I literally laugh at how much those "bargains" cost them.

Oh, and one last thing: I teach in my Ultimate Sales Kit that you tend to attract the type of shopper you yourself are.

So if you find yourself fighting with prospects over how much you charge, well, you might want to take a long look in the mirror and see how easy it is to get you to buy something of good value at a fair price.

Punch Them In The Face With Your Marketing

Prograde Cravers are sweeping the Nation! Have you seen the video yet? http://www.trainandgrowrich.com/whatsnew.htm

****

I need to take my own advice on this one.

My http://TrainandGrowRich.com site is crystal clear. Right off the bat you know who I work with and what I do for them.

And I recommend you do the same. From the second your prospect lands on your home page they should know if they are in the right place or not.

That's what I mean by "Punch Them In The Face With Your Marketing" - nothing sends a message like a good punch in the face ;-)

Thanks to video services like YouTube - feel free to use any service you like best - you can videotape yourself so your prospects see and hear you deliver that punch.

Very, very powerful.

You can immediately capture the attention of your exact target market - you do know your prospect like the back of your hand, don't you? - and let them know exactly what is in it for them.

I don't need to tell you that the only they really give a hoot about is how you are going to help them?

You don't need to expand on how great you are. But a clear concise video message can cut through the clutter and help them get to know you instantly.

You can establish your Velvet Rope from the get go by politely letting them know you only work with clients who are ready to become walking, talking billboards.

Bottom line: Video is such a powerful way to deliver a concise marketing message it's almost too good to be true.

That's why I need to follow my own advice.

My Best Public Speaking Tips Ever

Have you seen the review of Prograde Varsity Post-Workout drink in Men's Fitness? If not, check it out here: http://tinyurl.com/23vpqf

Become a Prograde Pro TODAY! http://getprograde.com/fitness_pro
****

Public speaking is not only a great way to prospect for new clients; it also builds your credibility as an expert. Whether or not you speak in public already, these three tips will help you land more talks.

Tip #1 - It's super easy to get speaking "gigs"

I'm often asked by Fitness Professionals how they should go about getting booked for talks. When I tell them to pick up the phone and call people they nearly pass out at the very thought of having to make a "cold call."

When they come back to their senses I gently explain most of these groups meet weekly and they need a speaker at each meeting. That means they need someone willing to come in and speak for free in a bad way! Believe me; they are dying to hear from you.

And they are super easy to find as well. If you belong to a networking group of some sort I can almost guarantee you they'd love to have you speak.

Ask people such as your clients what groups they belong to and whether or not they have speakers. All sorts of religious organizations have meetings with speakers. Search the internet. It's simple!

When you call them just ask for the person who books speakers. They'll gladly tell you who it is and how to get in touch with them.

What do you say when you get them on the phone? "Hi, I understand you're looking for speakers for your meetings. Is that correct?" I'm confident you can handle it.

They'll then ask you what you talk about. I think every single time I've ever told someone my talk is on fitness they'll all responded with the same answer: "We could all use that!"

Tip #2 - Have a bio and description of your talk handy

When you make the initial contact there's a very good chance they'll want to see your bio and the description of what you plan on talking about. It doesn't need to be a big production to start. Just have two separate documents.

The bio just needs to give a brief background on your experience and credentials.

Your talk description is simply the title of your talk and bullet points on what you will cover.

Tip #3 - Have a really cool introduction

You really want to bond with your audience right away so come up with something that shows you are an expert, but also human. Here's one I've used in the past to get the audience laughing before we even started:

"While at the University of Delaware, Jim Labadie managed to be a Dean's List student by incorporating a steady diet of study, volunteer work, Jack Daniel's and Taco Bell. It was this strict lifestyle that allowed him to graduate not only with a degree in Fitness Management, but also 40 pounds fatter than you see him today.

A reformed party-animal and fast-food junkie, Coach Jim is a passionate fitness entrepreneur, speaker, coach and consultant. He has appeared in Redbook, Men's Fitness, Self and if you watch local news on Fox, NBC or CBS you've probably seen him there, too."

Typically, the person who booked you will be the one who is going to introduce you. Make sure they know to read word for word the introduction you have created.

If you don't specifically hand this to them right before you go and request it they very well may resort to just reading straight from your bio. Boring! It's happened to me so be sure they introduce you the right way to set the tone for a great talk.

****

Thanks to super trainer Holly Rigsby and registered dietitian Jayson Hunter we have just added a complete "done-for-you" presentation on the Lies and Myths of Fat Loss to the resources section of Prograde.

It is the PERFECT presentation for trainers to give at networking functions or Lunch and Learns. All the work has been done for you. It's completely turn-key and it works like magic to bring in new business.

Case Study: Instant Media Exposure (With Proof)

Case Study: Instant Media Exposure (With Proof)

Last Saturday I went on a fishing trip out of Miami. It was the kind where there are 50 people casting off over the side of the boat. Just enough to get everyone's lines tangled up constantly.

I went up to the top deck with my girlfriend to take a break from that insanity and to get a better view. It was then that I got sick as you know what.

But it wasn't sea sickness. Nor was it the oppressive heat.

No, I almost puked listening to this knucklehead on the other side of the boat talk about how foolish it is to take care of yourself.

His words were something like this:

"You're supposed to abuse your body as much as possible and slide sideways into your grave at top speed."

Well, that's one way to look at life. But when I think about the fact this guy has already had one heart attack and was sucking down cigarettes and slamming beers...well, it makes my blood boil to know my health insurance rates increase because of morons just like him.

I don't want to save the world. But I do want to do my fair share to change it. The http://michaelmoorehealthchallenge.com can hopefully inspire more than a few people just like the chain smoking fisherman I've been telling you about to change.

And it can help you, too.

My good friends and customers Pamela MacElree and Jason C. Brown of Cross Fit Philly sent out a press release about it and have already been interviewed by their local media about it!

I'll be sure to share the article with you when it's published. But in the meantime, I've posted their press release for you to learn from. Please DO NOT use it word-for-word. But feel free to use it as a template.

http://www.trainandgrowrich.com/pmacpr.htm

They've also taken it one step further by having their own challenge! http://www.crossfitphilly.com/healthchallenge.html

This is an amazing opportunity for you. I've handed you the keys to a goldmine of exposure. All I ask is you give credit where credit is due. When the media asks you how you came up with the idea please be sure to mention Ryan and I and the http://michaelmoorehealthchallenge.com/ website - just like Pamela and Jason did.

I'm just getting warmed up with this. I hope you are too.

One tip that will save you SOOO much time

So what's the one tip?

PROMOTE YOUR SYSTEMS AND NOT YOURSELF!

I did a coaching call with one of my customers this past week and he had an interesting dilemma. It seems his reputation is rock solid in his town and he is gaining more and more exposure.

How is that a dilemma? Well, as the OWNER of his training studio he is finding that more and more people want to work with him and not the other trainers who work for him.

As a business owner he wants to be working ON his business not IN his business. He is fully aware if he just keeps taking on more new clients he'll never break the cycle.

So how should he promote himself differently?

I told him he is in a great position now. His name and reputation are rock solid.

So now all he needs to do is start educating people on the value of his training SYSTEMS and not just on the fact that he is an expert.

He needs to promote the effectiveness of his systems to everyone who will listen: his prospects, his clients, the media, those who refer to him, everybody!

That way when people contact his studio prospects will know they can train with anyone at his facility and receive the same great results!

This is a BIG TIME tip you must follow if you want to be able to grow your business, earn more money and take more time off.

You MUST have systems in place for your business. And that includes training systems!

By the way, THE systems man in the Fitness Industry, Pat Rigsby, is celebrating his 2 year wedding anniversary in a big way. Be sure to join in the fun by visiting http://ptwealthbuilder.com today. You'll be glad you did.

Who loves ya? ;-)

Two Very Easy Ways To Give Back

Two Very Easy Ways To Give Back

I'm often asked how people can run a charitable boot camp in their community. So today I'm going to - with permission - show you the entire email I received recently from my good friend Frank Dolan about a camp he is running. It pretty much sums up how it is done.

The charity he is donating to is a terrific cause founded by another good friend of mine, Allan Boshell. Please be sure to read the entire email found below my signature. You'll be inspired by his story.

Obviously, that's one way to give back. The other is to take one minute of your time and participate in the http://michaelmoorehealthchallenge.com/

There's even a form email at the bottom you can send to healthychallenge@gmail.com . Seriously, it will take you no more than 60 seconds and will help spread the message of preventative healthcare!

This is how it's done:

"Clarity on Special Fitness Boot Camp Offer August 2007 "

Dear Jim,

Yesterday morning I sent out a special email to promote the 2-Week Boot Camp to benefit the Patty Boshell Pancreatic Cancer Foundation.

Since I received a bunch of questions I figured that the email needed some further clarification.

* Usually Fitness Boot Camp lasts for 3 weeks and costs $167. This special camp is for 2 weeks and costs $100.

* Each payment goes directly to The Patty Boshell Pancreatic Cancer Foundation. When you make your online donation a confirmation email receipt will be sent to you. All you need to do is email me the receipt of your donation and you're in!!

* If you would like to pay by check please make it payable to the foundation and let me know ASAP that you will be attending

* If you would like to make a donation without attending the camp that is fine too

* If you have further questions please feel free to email me....

Don't forget the donation is tax deductible

Below I have attached the original email message in case you missed it yesterday....

Sometimes it's hard.....

Sometimes it is very hard to make exercise a part of your life...

Our typical members, as you know, are not bodybuilders or fitness enthusiasts.

We primarily cater to a group of people who are in most cases pretty healthy, but realize that exercise and a proper diet will prolong that health, enhance their life, increase energy, and make them look and feel great.

I find it so inspiring that we have people here that place so much value and respect on their life and health to invest time and money for a cause that will pay long term dividends in a world dominated by the quick fix.

On a more somber note, the reality is that despite best efforts and intentions, all that can be taken away from us without notice.

About two years ago, my very good friend Allan Boshell's wife was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer.

She passed away 3 months after diagnosis at the age of 49.

Due to mild symptoms and the location of the pancreas, the disease is often difficult to detect and by the time they do it is often too late.

Since his wife has passed, Allan has founded a foundation in her name. The Patty Boshell Pancreatic Cancer Foundation.

It truly is amazing to see someone so devastated by the loss of his wife could turn that into something so positive and inspiring as this new foundation.

A few months ago he was actually on Capitol Hill lobbying for Pancreatic Cancer Research Aid (which at the current time receives the least amount of government support out of major cancer).

He is also using a lifelong passion of his, car racing, to raise money for the foundation!!

Please go to this site to read a recent article about Allan and the cause:

http://pancreaticcure.org/announcements.html#SunSentinel

Right now, we are in the middle of the last phase of the Summer Boot Camp. This will leave us a few weeks in August until the Fall Camp will begin. So in the meantime we will be offering a special two week Fitness Boot Camp to support The Patty Boshell Pancreatic Cancer Foundation.

It's a great way for you to get in shape or get a new routine before the hectic "Back to School" season, while donating to a very worthwhile cause.

The 2-week camp will start the week of August 13th and is offered:
* Mondays at 6 AM and 7:30 PM
* Tuesdays at 6 AM and 7:30 PM
* Thursdays at 6 AM and 7:30 PM
* Saturdays at 8:00 AM (on the beach!!)

All levels of fitness are welcome!! In the camp you will work on:
* Increasing your metabolism
* Improving posture and core strength
* Increase strength and endurance
* Burning more calories during your workouts

Normally a session with Frank or Meg would cost $90 per hour....but in this camp you get 8 group sessions for ONLY 100 bucks total!!!

To sign up:
* Go to http://panc reaticcure.org/donate.html
* Donate $100 to the Foundation (all proceeds go to the cause)
* Forward me your receipt (forward to frankjr@all4sportsandfitness.com)
* Show up on Monday, August 13th ready to get in shape
I hope to see you there!!

Sincerely,

Frank Jr.

The Forgotten Art Of...

Somewhere along the line many of us forgot to think for ourselves.

Somewhere along the line many began to let their political affiliation or their government or their friends or their family or their religion do their thinking for them.

It makes for a scary world.

That's why I love to give you things to THINK about.

The forgotten art of critical thinking needs to be resurrected.

So here is something to think about:

Here is an article on how big, bad McDonald's and how their "Marketing Tricks Tots' Taste Buds."

http://tinyurl.com/27s33r

But that isn't what I want you to think about. What I want you to wrap your arms around is just how much the Fitness Industry owes to the Fast Food corporations.

Have you ever given thought to how much moolah you have made thanks to their stuffing cheeseburgers down your clients' throats?

Don't rush to judgement on this one. THINK. Stay as unemotional about it as you can and THINK.

****

Thanks to all of you who have already participated in the http://michaelmoorehealthchallenge.com !!

But we've got a long way to go. Please be sure to take a moment to send in the form email if nothing else.

I don't have the answers to everything, but I believe this is going to help people. I really do. I know this will make a difference in the lives of millions of people.

Please help us out. Please tell everyone you can about it.

Who loves ya? ;-)

PS- I thought this was more than interesting. It's an email response to the http://michaelmoorehealthchallenge.com
from a Canadian subscriber. Thanks, Roché!

"Dear Mr Moore,

As a Canadian Citizen and a wife of a physician here, I know that our healthcare system is only slightly better than that of the USA. Unfortunately people are dying of obesity, type 11 diabetes and other metabolic syndrome related illnesses as much as in America. Our system is bogged down by self- induced illnesses that steal the care from the really sick people.
I would love to see you take this health challenge and I will cheer you on every step of the way.

You can single-handedly make a much bigger difference in your own healthcare system by setting an amazingly positive example than you can by making a hundred movies.

I wish you the very best of luck. I know that Jim and Ryan will give you every ounce of help you need with this challenge."

Sincerely,

Roché Rossouw

How to Avoid Massive Headaches

Looks like I hit quite a few nerves yesterday with the Michael Moore newsletter.

I'm working on something today to send Michael some love. Stay tuned. You're going to get a kick out of this one!

"How and When to Talk About Your Cancellation/Rescheduling Policy"

It can be one of the hardest things to do.

Is there a more uncomfortable feeling than when you have to tell your client you had to charge them for a session they missed?

Well, if you make your policy crystal clear up-front you'll go a long way towards eliminating any potential problems in the future.

Something you need to be aware of is the fact most people don't regard your time to be as valuable as you do. And that isn't because you are a personal trainer. It's because most people haven't the slightest clue how valuable their own time is! It is your responsibility as a professional to thoroughly explain the client/trainer relationship. That includes the value of your time, their time and exactly what your cancellation/rescheduling policy is.

So when is the best time to talk about all of this?

Immediately after closing your sale and your prospect becomes a client. Mind you, this does not mean you explain your policy and procedures 5 minutes before they start their first session. No, the best time to handle all the details as to what they can expect from you as their trainer and what you expect from them as your client is before you leave the consultation.

Understand your new client is extremely excited about the decision they've just made. They are proud of themselves for having taken the leap and deciding to hire someone to help them do it right.

There's never a better time to openly and honestly explain how valuable your time is and why your cancellation policy exists and how it works.

There's never a better time to help them understand it is for their benefit as well.

They've made a commitment to fitness and nothing short of an act of God, family emergency or illness is a reason for them to no-show for a scheduled appointment.

It's also a great idea to take the time now to explain how your relationship will grow as you work together. As my friend and fellow trainer Joe Stankowski likes to say, "there's a reason they call it 'personal' training." So right after they have paid you to retain your services is the critical time to discuss the fact that just because you begin to know one another well doesn't mean you won't charge them. Before you leave the subject make sure they have completely understood every word you have said and agree with it. Don't just give them a contract to sign that explains they have read the policy and are ok with it.

You can even tell your new client you will periodically remind them of the policy as the relationship grows. Why? Because this is a professional relationship no matter how well you come to know your client. Taking the time to explain yourself fully from the very beginning will save your serious headaches in the future.

I've got a LOT more headache savers in the Ultimate Sales Kit for Fitness Pros. http://howtogetmoreclients.com/

Labadie in ACE Certified News and IDEA

I've got to do a better job of recycling my own press.

I was recently in the June/July 2007 issue of the ACE Certified News. The article is called "Break the Rules and Give Your Training Business a Boost." It starts on page 6.

And I was in the June 2007 IDEA Fitness Journal. The article on "Building Business Alliances With Competitors." Turn to page 118 for my insights on the topic.

Thanks!

Micheal Moore Is An Idiot

Micheal Moore Is An Idiot

You're underpaid.

I've written about it extensively in the past.

My friend Kevin Gianni made me aware of the below link in his newsletter today.

You can either watch the 5 minute video or read the blog entry yourself.

It will shed a whole new light on the "sick" care industry and why Michael Moore is an idiot.

http://www.ultrametabolism.com/blog/

You'll understand this more after you see what I'm talking about...

You have to believe all things are possible. You have to believe that everyone can win. You must. We all must.

And you'll also understand why you're underpaid.

****

By the way, with all the known health benefits of essential fatty acids, why wouldn't you want to earn commissions by selling a product like Prograde's EFA Icon to your clients?

Is the autoship program and the 30% ongoing commissions to tough for you to handle?

Become a Prograde Pro and be a part of the new healthcare. The one where people take care of themselves BEFORE they get sick.

Does the ACSM Have Any Clue?

My good friend Amanda Vogel made me aware of something very important.

This is a terrific opportunity for you to voice your opinion. You can do it in any number of ways:

- Send out a press release
- Write about it in your newsletter
- Educate your client as to why you think their recommendations are terrific or terrible
- Respond to all the media coverage about it by writing the journalist or a letter to the editor

So what the heck am I talking about?

The ACSM has released their updated "Physical Activity Guidelines." It's the first time they've been changed since 1995.

And since everyone has gotten so much fatter since then you can tell how terrfic they were.

But I digress.

Check them out for yourself at their website:

PS- Thinking about running a Back to School Boot Camp? http://www.howtoprofitwithbootcamps.com
