The Simple Recipe for Internet Success

Have you watched this yet?

I think a lot of people think I'm talking a whole lot of 'BS' when I say you can run your business the easy way or the hard way. There's no doubt you can succeed either way. It's simply a matter of allowing yourself to move past the 'you must work hard to get ahead in life' crap you were taught as a kid.

Now don't get me wrong. You're going to have to work. There are times when I work my butt off. But I also know that I have the Law of Attraction working on my behalf. So I do what needs to be done and not a thing more.

It's staring you right in the face

Opportunity is everywhere. It's present at all times. I write about that all the time in my http://www.labadieunleashed.com emails. And Zach Even-Esh and I talk about it on http://www.fitnessbusinessmindset.com.

Lyle Johnson, one of my http://www.howtoprofitwithbootcamps.com customers is the perfect example of having the "opportunity is everywhere" mindset.

Last year, before getting our Boot Camp Kit, he had three people enroll in his camp. Then he got real savvy and started working his connections. Before you know it he's got three camps. And one of them is working with the front office people of the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team. Inside Busch Stadium itself!

Pretty damn cool, huh?

Now here's the thing. Don't just jump on this idea and start calling all your local sports teams. You could and, in fact, you should. But don't be one of those people who just copies everything. Give it a day and contemplate the possibilities. Meditate on it.

Why?

Because there may be even greater opportunities staring you right in the face. Simply let this idea be a springboard for your own greatness.

Here's another one for you:

I recently read, on page 90 of the June 2006 issue of Entrepreneur magazine, a great article on rising health care costs and the new "health savings account" plans. It's a terrific article and I highly recommend you read it. Essentially, it gave me the idea that fitness pros have great potential joint venture partners in companies that sell health insurance plans.

There's a ton of small business who are getting killed by health insurance costs.
There's a ton of insurance companies who would love to sell them a new plan.

See where I'm going with this?

Ok. Maybe not.

From what I understand these new "health savings account" plans put the honus on the employee to stay healthy since a great deal of their medical costs will be coming out of their own pocket.

The small business saves money with the new plan.

The insurance company makes money selling it.

The employee gets healthy taking YOUR fun and affordable fitness boot camp. Which, by the way, was recommended by both the employer and the health insurance company.

Opportunity is everywhere. It's staring you right in the face - right now.

I couldn't care less

Most of my friends say the same thing to me:

"Those websites of yours are SOOOOOOO cheesy."

And I agree. Long sales copy does get pretty "cheesy."

But you know what?

I could not possibly care less.

Seriously.

I could not possibly give less of a rat's you know what about it.

Know why?

They work. And they work REALLY well.

I just got back from a short trip to NJ to see my family and CT to see Ryan Lee. While I was gone I made quite a bit of money without having to do anything. I got to relax and enjoy time with family and friends thanks to my "cheesy" websites. All of my friends were at their jobs working for somebody else.

Why am I writing you about this?

If you want to grow the business of your dreams so you can live the life of your dreams you simply cannot care what people think about you.

Not one iota.

So ask yourself if there's anything that you're not doing because you're concerned what others might say or think about you. If there is I can tell you with 100% certainty that you must change your thinking.

With the risks come the rewards. Let other people worry about what others think of them. As an entrepreneur you have too many dreams and aspirations to live out to care!

What are you going to do with all your free time?

What are you going to do with all your free time?

You know. When you're taking 4 day weekends all the time, what are you going to be doing? Where are you going to go? Who will you see? How will you get there?

You don't know?

That's perfectly fine. Not many people do.

But if that is what you want, that is what you need to start to plan for. Think about it. Meditate on it. Script it out.

Are you spending time with family? Playing golf? Heading out on your boat? Going to visit friends?

The more real you imagine and plan what you want your future to look like the faster your sub-conscious mind (and the Universe) can make it the here and now.

I'm going to the movies this afternoon. That's what I do pretty much every Friday afternoon. I LOVE movies.

And you know what?

I imagined I would spend my Friday afternoon's this way a long time ago.

3 Tips for Communicating Effectively with Editors

You may already know this. In fact, you may already be doing this.

But I missed it.

Well, I actually knew about this, but it took some time to really appreciate it as a revenue stream.

Why?

Simple really. The fitness industry publications that I write for, so I can reach my target market, don't really pay me for my material. I get to promote myself and that's why it makes sense to do it.

However...

Since there are big-time fitness magazines reaching big-time audiences you can not only promote yourself through writing articles, but you can get seriously paid to do it.

My good friend Amanda Vogel - yes, the same one who is a fellow fitness pro AND a freelance writer who contributes to, Fitness, Self, Cooking Light, Fit Pregnancy, Health and Shape - has been trying to convince me of just how much you can earn writing articles.

Again, I'm sorry I didn't tell you sooner. Yes, it is, in fact, true you can get paid several thousand dollars for writing an article for a top-flight fitness magazine.

Even better?

It's not as hard or time consuming as you think! According to Amanda:

Most fitness pros - and even professional writers - think the only way to make money with articles is to continually write brand-new pieces, all on different topics, which can take a lot of time. Once you know how, you can collect multiple paychecks for the basically the same information. For example:

1- Recycling: The idea is to recycle or repurpose your material so you double or triple (or more) your earnings in half the time or less. You might create articles with different angles and target audiences but all on the same general theme. This also allows you to market yourself to a wider audience.

2- Reprints: You could sell what's called a reprint, which means you simply sell pretty much the same article to multiple magazines and get paid multiple times without having to spend time writing a new article.

3- Career Spin-offs: Writing articles often leads to other career opportunities or spin-offs. My articles have gotten me other writing assignments, paid presenting gigs, publicity in major magazines and the chance to teach a high paying two-day fitness course.

Pretty cool, huh?

If you're getting paid to write articles that means you're dealing with editors. And since that can be a little tricky Amanda has generously offered this advice to you:

3 Tips for Communicating Effectively with Editors

When an editor assigns you an article, do your part to ensure communication runs smoothly. Here are 3 strategies for communicating effectively with editors.

1- Check first about the check. If an editor doesn't mention a fee when assigning an article, it often means there isn't one. You might expect payment, but if he expects a freebie, you're out of luck. Ask about the fee before you write so there are no surprises.

2- Make second-draft changes obvious. Editors commonly email authors a second draft of their article with editorial suggestions and questions. Address these questions and incorporate changes promptly. To save editors time and frustration, always clearly mark your changes (I use UPPER CASE letters or a blue- or red-colored font). Editors don't have time to weed through a 2,000-word piece hunting for your last-minute additions or altered phrases. Also, don't rewrite sections that have already been edited unless the editor asks you to do so.

3- Ask questions. If an editor has changed something you don't agree with in the second draft of your article, politely discuss it with her. Ask why she made the change. You may discover there's a sound reason for it. Or, you might convince her to reverse the change. Just remember - most editors don't care to argue over minor word choice.

DON'T Take action?

I'm not a big fan of telling people to 'take action.'

Why?

Because it can cause people to run around in circles and get nowhere. Anybody can do SOMETHING and say they are trying to grow a business.

What am I a fan of?

Telling people to take FOCUSED action. You need to be focused on the things that will BUILD your business.

But even then there are times when people don't get where they say they want to go.

Today I did a private coaching session with one of my clients where this was exactly the case. He's definitely taking action. In fact, he's taking very focused action. Problem is he's no getting anywhere.

While we were talking I heard it again. He said to me, 'I seem to like to make things as hard on myself as possible.'

And he is. He's thinking way too much and not just putting his product out there. There's a time to sh*t or get off the pot.

So what about you? Is there anything holding you back? Are you spending every last second trying to come up with the perfect product, service or marketing piece instead of just putting it out there?

And if that is the case, why do you think that is? What are you afraid of? Fear? Success? Criticism?

This client was focusing on how to make the perfect product for his market. What I told him to do was to stop researching it because he already knows the answer. His sub-conscious mind knows exactly what needs to be done.

Here is what I told him to do:

Act as if the product is already done. Say out loud how grateful he is that his market loves it and can't say enough good things about it. Affirm it over and over. Write it down as many times as he can stand.

Why?

As I wrote, his sub-conscious mind will bring forth everything he needs to create the product. He simply needs to get out of the way. He needs to take some time off and let his sub-conscious mind go to work for him.

And that can't happen when you're ALWAYS taking focused action. This is the perfect example of why the more time I take off, and the more fun I have, the more I make.

Feeling from your future?

But what I'm doing is replicating that blissful feeling I'm going to get when I announce the new business Ryan Lee and I are launching soon. I'm jumping up and down celebrating as if our first orders are pouring in and all the hard work we've put into it has paid off just like we expected.

Get the picture?

I'm feeling from my future. As if it has already happened exactly as I want it to play out. And the more real I make it in my imagination the more real it becomes in reality.

Think I've lost it?

Well, someone else who uses this technique is my good friend and client Zach Even-Esh. Yes, the same guy who has taken the fitness industry by storm over the last two years.

He makes a fortune in passive income via marketing his fitness info products online. He only works with clients he wants to work with. Essentially, he's living the life of his dreams.

Case Study: From Trainer to Entrepreneur

What do you want out of life?

Are you like my friend and customer Heather Picken of FeelingLikeaMillion.com?
